The Iranian regime has been spending billions of dollars<\/span> inside Iran and abroad through it lobbyists with fake news, struggling to promote th<\/span>e <\/span>notion that<\/span> the<\/span> People\u2019s <\/span>Mojahedin<\/span><\/a> Organization of Iran<\/a> (PMOI\/MEK)<\/a> and National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a> do not enjoy p<\/span>opular <\/span>support inside Iran and have no effect. The regime\u2019s goal of spending <\/span>billions<\/span> of dollars for <\/span>such <\/span>propaganda <\/span>is to portray that th<\/span>e<\/span> regime has no alternative.<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, change must come <\/span>from <\/span>within the regime. In this regard, Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York City<\/span>, in his speech during the NCRI\u2019s<\/a> \u201cFree Iran Global Summit,\u201d on July<\/span> 17,<\/span> 2020 said:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>There are those Iranian apologists here in America and in the West, people who are paid by the Iranian regime, who said the NCRI<\/a> and the MEK <\/a><\/span>don’t<\/span> amount to much. <\/span>They’re<\/span> a cult. They have very few followers. They have no chance to replace the regime. But then if you listen to the words of the Ayatollah and his puppet, Rouhani, just over the last year, two or three times the Ayatollah and four or five times Rouhani have said that the only threat to their regime, the only organization that has any change to put together a government to replace them, is the NCRI<\/a> and the MEK. I mean, <\/span>it’s<\/span> amazing they would admit that, but they do. <\/span>It’s<\/span> equally amazing that the corrupt Western press suppresses that.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the same event, Ambassador Lincoln Bloomfield, referred to his research<\/a> over the allegations against the MEK <\/a>and said that <\/span>even though <\/span>all of<\/span> these allegations have been <\/span>rejected by <\/span>the <\/span>courts, Western media repeat <\/span>the <\/span>same allegations<\/span> which have been <\/span>denied for years<\/span>. He said:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Western media and think tank reports still repeat the allegations that were entirely debunked officially by court challenges in France, the European Union, the UK and the United States years ago. Why do they keep repeating these allegations, these falsehoods? My conclusion is the same, no matter what the regime does the reason is the same. Why are they seeking to discredit the NCRI and the MEK<\/a>? Why did they rush to defend Bashar Assad\u2019s regime in 2011 against the Syrian people? Why did they <\/span>enter into<\/span> a long negotiation with Europe and the United States and the P5+1 to try to talk about nuclear weapons? To keep the U.S. and Europe from acting against the regime. The reason is always the same, the same reason, to keep a weak, illegitimate regime in power.<\/span>..<\/span> The regime sees these events, and they know the NCRI<\/a> and the MEK <\/a>more than anyone else are fully capable of organizing a democratic transition to legitimate constitutional government after the fall of the regime.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ambassador Adam <\/a><\/span>Ereli<\/span><\/a>, former spokesperson of the U.S. State Department, during his speech<\/span>,<\/span> referred to the Iranian regime\u2019s lies and demonizing of the MEK and said that these lies only confirm one thing: <\/span>D<\/span>espite all the regime\u2019s lies <\/span>the MEK <\/a>is the main threat to the regime. He said: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Now, the MEK and your efforts have been instrumental in exposing this conspiracy of terror by the government of Tehran over many, many years.\u00a0 And <\/span>you\u2019ve<\/span> had, I think, some very important successes in disrupting the Iranian regime\u2019s terrorist activities.\u00a0 And <\/span>that\u2019s<\/span> why, again, not only have they tried to destroy you in Iran, they\u2019ve also tried to discredit and demonize you outside of Iran.\u00a0 They have funded information campaigns against you.\u00a0 They have tried to convince journalists, governments, think tanks, that the MEK is an outlaw organization, that it <\/span>doesn\u2019t<\/span> represent Iranians, that it has no following inside Iran.\u00a0 Well, again, the fact that <\/span>they\u2019re<\/span> saying this indicates to me that the opposite is true.\u00a0 Otherwise, they wouldn\u2019t be spending all this money and effort to present a false narrative.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Robert Torricelli, former U.S. Senator from New Jersey, while referring to the Iranian regime\u2019s influence in <\/span>the <\/span>U.S. press <\/span>to demonize the MEK and the Iranian Resistance, said:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>There are across the globe a shadow of public relations firms, operatives and companies that are disseminating false information. Only yesterday, one of the most respected journalists in America, Jake Tapper of CNN, wrote a report, published a tweet, and later withdrew it after receiving false information from a regime operative. This is happening every day. The humiliation of Der Spiegel, one of the world’s great publications, citing information patently false, directly from Tehran, and having to have been ordered by a German court to remove it. <\/span>And <\/span>I\u2019m<\/span> embarrassed to tell you the same would have happened with the New York Times, but for the fact that our laws and constitution are <\/span>different,<\/span> and the courts cannot as readily undertake such action.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other <\/span>hand,<\/span> holding the Iranian Resistance<\/span>\u2019s<\/span> annual gathering virtually in 30,000 locations in over 100 countries, attended by more than 1000 personalities from across the globe, had such a <\/span>reflection in Iran that <\/span>it <\/span>extremely terrified the mullahs\u2019 regime.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A glance at the regime\u2019s media and news agencies in recent days shows the regime\u2019s extreme fear of the MEK<\/a>. <\/span>Almost in every <\/span>newspaper<\/span> and state-run website of the regime in one day,<\/span> o<\/span>n July 26, there was at least one article or report against the MEK<\/a>. In some cases, <\/span>some <\/span>newspaper<\/span>s<\/span> published <\/span>three<\/span> to <\/span>four<\/span> articles against the MEK<\/a>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime\u2019s fear of the MEK has reached a point where the regime\u2019s oppressive organizations and military officials have <\/span>put out <\/span>statements against the MEK. In this regard, in addition to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a> statement against the MEK<\/a>, the regime\u2019s highest military official, <\/span>IRGC<\/span> Major <\/span>General <\/span>Mohammad Bagheri, the regime\u2019s Chief of Staff, in a message which <\/span>the<\/span> state-run Young Journalist<\/span>s<\/span> Club <\/span>news agency <\/span>published as \u201cMajor General Bagheri\u2019s warning to <\/span>the <\/span>MEK<\/span><\/a>,<\/span>\u201d said: \u201c<\/span>We could see t<\/span>he MEK\u2019s footprint and <\/span>infiltrating current in creating complex seditions and <\/span>new scandal-makings of the state\u2019s enemies on cyberspace waiting to deceive people<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We should first ask the regime: <\/span>If you are<\/span> saying the MEK <\/a>is a grouplet with no prominence in Iranian society, and it<\/span>s members are wandering <\/span>thousands of kilometers away from Iran\u2019s borders in Albania<\/span>, why is <\/span>your highest military official sending a message to this organization?\u00a0 Yet, Bagheri himself clear<\/span>ly answers this question in his message: <\/span>T<\/span>he \u201cMEK\u2019s footprint\u201d is visible in all the element<\/span>s<\/span> that threaten the regime and its existence.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, this question <\/span>of <\/span>why the regime has <\/span>carried out such vast propaganda against the MEK finds an answer. On <\/span>the <\/span>one hand, the regime\u2019s situation <\/span>is more critical and unstable than ever, and it has no solution for the cris<\/span>e<\/span>s that <\/span>hav<\/span>e <\/span>engulfed <\/span>it. On the other hand, <\/span>the Iranian Resistance, despite <\/span>the <\/span>difficult situation during the pandemic, held its annual gathering more powerful than any other year. This gathering <\/span>inspired<\/span> huge reaction<\/span>s<\/span> by the Iranian people and <\/span>while the regime was trying to <\/span>pacify <\/span>people by using <\/span>the <\/span>coronavirus, th<\/span>is event <\/span>made the Iranian people more hopeful than ever <\/span>before <\/span>of overthrowing this regime and creating a strong alternative.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NCRI<\/a> President-elect Mrs. Maryam <\/a><\/span>Rajavi<\/span> <\/a>said<\/span> the message of this year\u2019s gathering <\/span>was<\/span>: <\/span>\u201cO<\/span>ur first commitment is that we, the people of Iran and the Iranian Resistance, will overthrow the clerical regime and will reclaim Iran.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a message that the Iranian people have also <\/span>heard<\/span>, and the Friday prayer leaders<\/span> in cities across the country, who get their cue from <\/span>the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, have clearly expressed their fear of the tremendous reflection of this message in the restive society and especially its impact on the youth<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Abolhassan<\/span> Mahdavi, the Friday prayer leader<\/span> in<\/span> Isfahan, said: “The enemy is waging a media war on us today. This is not a joke. In this media war, they strongly want to polarize the country; They are dividing the authorities and the people. They are desperately seeking public discontent so that they can bring some people on the street and then misuse the situation.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammad Reza <\/span>Naseri<\/span>, Yazd’s Friday prayer <\/span>leader<\/span>,<\/span> said<\/span>: \u201c<\/span>They (the MEK)<\/span> have bombarded the public mind, especially our youth, in cyberspace and social networks<\/span>.<\/span> These are enemies who have used all their power to <\/span>sow <\/span>division<\/span>s<\/span> and hatred in the country<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Today, the MEK <\/a><\/span>are not looking for military war, but for cyber and media war,” said Hassan <\/span>Dehshiri<\/span>, <\/span>Ardestan’s<\/span> Friday prayer leader. “Our youth must be careful not to be deceived by f<\/span>ake <\/span>news.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime\u2019s other Friday Prayer Leaders repeated <\/span>the <\/span>same words and had one common <\/span>fearful message<\/span>: The MEK<\/a>, more powerful than ever, is pursuing the regime\u2019s downfall<\/span>,<\/span> and <\/span>Iran\u2019s <\/span>youth are being attracted to them.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
