For <\/span>years,<\/span>\u00a0the Iranian regime has been a source of\u00a0<\/span>instability\u00a0<\/span>in the Middle East and around the globe. The daily oppression of the Iranian people, depriving them of their basic rights, institutionalized corruption, and wrong economic policies are other characteristics of the mullahs\u2019 regime. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the beginning<\/span>, the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>mullahs were\u00a0<\/span>aware of their inability to lead Iran and manage the surging force of a liberated population from monarchic oppression<\/span>, thus,\u00a0<\/span>they\u00a0<\/span>sought to divert the freed energies of a repressed society<\/span>. Therefore, the<\/span>y<\/span> started oppressing people, executing thousands,<\/span>\u00a0and arresting more<\/span>. The regime\u2019s founder, Ruhollah Khomeini, prolonged a devastating, unnecessary, and unpatriotic<\/span>\u00a0Iran-Iraq war for\u00a0<\/span>eight<\/span>\u00a0years and used it as a tool to control and oppress the restive Iranian society<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>The regime<\/span>\u00a0has never stopped its\u00a0<\/span>terrorist<\/a> activities,\u00a0<\/span>such as bombing<\/a> the Khobar Towers, U.S. Marine<\/span>s<\/span> camp in Beirut, Lebanon, the\u00a0<\/span>recent attack<\/a> on Saudi Arabia\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>o<\/span>il\u00a0<\/span>refinery<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0foiled bombing plot<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>against\u00a0<\/span>the National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/a><\/span>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0(NCRI) annual \u201cFree Iran\u201d gathering in 2<\/span>018 in Paris.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Massacring<\/a> over 30,000\u00a0<\/span>Iranian political prisoners in Iran, mostly members and supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/a><\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>was also a criminal move to oppress the force of change.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime also secretly started racing towards<\/span>\u00a0obtaining a nuclear bomb<\/a>, thus, prolonging its life.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If it\u00a0<\/span>wasn\u2019t<\/span>\u00a0because of the NCRI and MEK\u2019s revelations of the regime\u2019s nuclear\u00a0<\/span>activities,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>there could have been a catastrophe<\/span>\u00a0by<\/span>\u00a0now. The Iranian Resistance chose to\u00a0<\/span>prevent an aggressive, virulently\u00a0<\/span>sectarian<\/span>\u00a0and repressive religious fascism from obtaining nuclear weapons capability, and sav<\/span>e<\/span>\u00a0Iran, the region, and the world from the horrors of such a scenario.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, following the Iranian people\u2019s glorious uprising of November 2019<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>which showed the Iranian people do not want this regime, the\u00a0<\/span>need for the world community to stand with the Iranian people has become more urgent.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The mullah<\/span>s<\/span>\u2019 regime will not stop its domestic oppression or export of terrorism\u00a0<\/span>abroad. As former FBI director Loui<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0Freeh said during the NCRI\u2019s \u201cFree Iran Global Summit\u201d\u00a0<\/a><\/span>o<\/span>n July 17: \u201c<\/span>There has to be accountability. Someone has to make the decision and have the resources and the willpower to hold these criminals responsible<\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The following is the full text of Louis Freeh\u2019s speech<\/h2>\n

– at \u201cFree Iran Global Summit\u201d:<\/h3>\n

It is<\/span>\u00a0a great honor to be with you here today from\u00a0<\/span>Washington<\/span>\u00a0D.C.\u00a0<\/span>T<\/span>he cry for liberty and our support for you, Madame Rajavi, and\u00a0<\/span>all of<\/span>\u00a0your colleagues, could not be stronger and could not be louder.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>We thank you for your leadership, your courage, and your vision, and your faith, which has inspired us very greatly. Especially\u00a0<\/span>pleased<\/span>\u00a0that\u00a0<\/span>we\u00a0<\/span>are<\/span>\u00a0able to<\/span>\u00a0address the freedom fighters in Iran who are in harm\u2019s way every moment and who are not hiding but are in open resistance on the\u00a0<\/span>streets<\/span>\u00a0of Iran. We have enormous respect for you and your welfare and safety is our primary objective.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding Iran regime\u2019s crimes against #MEK<\/a> members, former FBI Director Louise Freeh told the #FreeIran2020<\/a> conference: \u201cThere has to be accountability. Someone has to make the decision to hold these criminals to account”https:\/\/t.co\/L6Zu5D23V2<\/a><\/p>\n

You know, what<\/span>\u00a0is<\/span>\u00a0amazing about this meeting this year is not just the technology, and Madame Rajavi and your colleagues, I commend you for the ability to communicate the way we<\/span>\u00a0a<\/span>re communicating under all the\u00a0<\/span>challenges<\/span>\u00a0that you<\/span>\u00a0ha<\/span>ve overcome. So, wonderful job and\u00a0<\/span>congratulations<\/span>\u00a0to all the many people who have worked on it. To all our international friends and colleagues, again, we<\/span>\u00a0a<\/span>re honored to be with you here today.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the amazing things about this event is\u00a0<\/span>it is<\/span>\u00a0not an anniversary.\u00a0<\/span>We are<\/span>\u00a0not memorializing a past event. What\u00a0<\/span>we are<\/span>\u00a0doing is looking to the future. We are pursuing a goal and achieving new milestones every year towards a free and democratic Iran. And today, we take another step in that direction. I want to\u00a0<\/span>echo Governor Ridge\u2019s comments thanking the Albanian officials who\u00a0<\/span>we have<\/span>\u00a0seen the president, the prime minister, and in\u00a0<\/span>Pandeli\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0words, actions speak louder than words. The heroic work that the Albanian people and its leaders have done to protect the MEK are legendary. Goes back to what they did during World War II, and we thank them and honor them for the\u00a0<\/span>s<\/span>afety and the leadership and the courage that they have provided.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is<\/span>\u00a0a song probably\u00a0<\/span>you have<\/span>\u00a0heard with a lyric that says, \u201cYou don\u2019t have to be a weatherman to know\u00a0<\/span>which<\/span>\u00a0way the wind is blowing.\u201d The wind today is getting stronger.\u00a0<\/span>It is<\/span>\u00a0moving the forces of freedom in Iran, like a dhow on the Persian Gulf, with increasing speed and momentum and support, the winds of freedom are blowing very strong at Iran. And we look at some of the positive things, again, th<\/span>at<\/span>\u00a0have<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>been noted by many of the speakers: the Congressional resolution here in Washington just a\u00a0<\/span>short<\/span>\u00a0time ago, bipartisan, as the support for freedom in Iran has always been; the trial that started yesterday in Belgium for\u00a0<\/span>Assad<\/span>ollah<\/span>\u00a0As<\/span>s<\/span>a<\/span>d<\/span>i\u00a0<\/span>w<\/span>ho takes on the new title of\u00a0<\/span>diplomat-<\/span>terrorist<\/span>. You would have to leave it to a criminal enterprise like the regime in\u00a0<\/span>Tehran<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>actually inaugurate<\/span>\u00a0the role of a diplomat-terrorist. And\u00a0<\/span>that is<\/span>\u00a0only one of many active against the forces of freedom. But the fact of his trial in\u00a0<\/span>Belgium<\/span>\u00a0as we speak here today is very significant. It goes to the accountability issue which\u00a0<\/span>I would<\/span>\u00a0like to return to in a moment.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The other event just in June, a few weeks ago, was a finding by the International Atomic Energy Administration, which is really the UN. And I quote from them, \u201cIran has continued to increase its stockpile of enriched uranium and remains in violation of its deal with world powers.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>That is<\/span>\u00a0not the Uni<\/span>t<\/span>ed States speaking, that<\/span>\u00a0i<\/span>s not the MEK speaking, that<\/span>\u00a0i<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0t<\/span>he United Nations.\u00a0<\/span>N<\/span>o great\u00a0<\/span>surprise<\/span>\u00a0that the regime that signed that agreement could not be\u00a0<\/span>trusted<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I would<\/span>\u00a0like to close by just returning, Mrs. Rajavi, to something that you said. You talked about the crimes of this regime and its members: 120,000 people massacred, MEK members; 30,000 political prisoners killed; terrorist attacks on Ashraf 1 and 2, thousands and thousands of people wounded and killed and maimed. And you said something which I know is very close to you but also close to every one of us on this conference.\u00a0<\/span>There\u00a0<\/span>has to<\/span>\u00a0be accountability. Someone\u00a0<\/span>has to<\/span>\u00a0make the decision and have the resources and the willpower to hold these criminals responsible. This is a crime of such magnitude that it\u00a0<\/span>cannot<\/span>\u00a0be written off with a truth commission. It\u00a0<\/span>cannot<\/span>\u00a0be written off with a book or a footnote or a movie. These are crimes of the most serious nature. They rival by their evil and intent Nazi Germany, what happened in Bosnia, Rwanda, and many, many other places.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

W<\/span>e should\u00a0<\/span>establish<\/span>\u00a0a\u00a0<\/span>world class crime<\/span>\u00a0against humanity documentation center. We should analyze the evidence<\/span>\u00a0t<\/span>hat<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>you have<\/span>\u00a0already collected. In fact,\u00a0<\/span>I have<\/span>\u00a0seen some of it in Ashraf 3. We should record the testimony of victims and eyewitnesses. There needs to be a systematic forensic examination, recording and documentation, with video and digital evidence.\u00a0<\/span>L<\/span>ike our technology here today, the people who committed all these crimes, who murdered thousands and thousands of people, they\u00a0<\/span>did not<\/span>\u00a0do it\u00a0<\/span>secretly<\/span>. They\u00a0<\/span>did not<\/span>\u00a0even do it very cleverly. They did it with great arrogance. The arrogance that highlights evil. So, the documentation is very\u00a0<\/span>available<\/span>. Their emails, their texts, their\u00a0<\/span>statements<\/span>, pictures, photographs, videos. That all should be put together in a documentation center, maybe even by a third party to enhance its credibility. And at some point, as we mark more and more milestones, these people should be brought to justice like the individual now being tried in Belgium. Thank you very much, Mrs. Rajavi. Thank you for your leadership and your\u00a0<\/span>inspiration.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
