COVID-19<\/a> death toll in Iran has surpassed 85,500<\/a>, according to reports published by\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran<\/a>. Since the beginning of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Iranian Resistance has highlighted the regime\u2019s deliberate inaction and cover-up of the true dimensions of t<\/span>he crisis. In my opinion<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the numbers reported by the Health Ministry (cases and deaths) are one twentieth of the true figures<\/span>,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In addition, while<\/span> acknowledging that the number of the coronavirus victims in Iran is twice the regime\u2019s official statistics,\u00a0<\/span>Iraj<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Harirchi<\/span>, the regime\u2019s deputy Health Minister<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cIn more than 100 countries around the world the Covid-19 death rate has been lowered to zero or single-digit numbers<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What were the regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>political and security reservations<\/span>?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The nationwide Iran protests<\/a> in November shook the regime\u2019s foundations<\/span>. Although<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>mullahs were able to temporarily<\/span>\u00a0quell the restive Iranian society\u00a0<\/span>by brutality and killing over 1500 protesters<\/a>, the\u00a0<\/span>regime\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>nightmare of being toppled by\u00a0<\/span>the nation\u00a0<\/span>has never<\/span>\u00a0ended. In addition, t<\/span>he regime\u2019s growing international isolation due to its malign activities has been reaching its height rapidly<\/span>, draining\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mullahs\u2019 resources for funding\u00a0<\/span>terrorism<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n So<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the regime was desperately looking for a way to legitimize\u00a0<\/span>its rule, thwart another uprising, and <\/span>receive funds. Therefore,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mullahs concealed the existence of the virus in Iran and held their anniversary of usurping power <\/span>in 1979 and their sham parliamentary elections to legitimize their rule. Although these actions failed, due to the Iranian people\u2019s unprecedented boycott<\/span>, those\u00a0<\/span>few\u00a0<\/span>regime supporters who participated in these events became hosts of the virus. In addition, the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a> airline, Mahan\u00a0<\/span>A<\/span>ir, never stopped its flight to and from China, the epicenter of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>virus<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Now, months after the coronavirus outbreak in Iran<\/span>, instead of helping people, the regime\u2019s officials, particularly the regime’s <\/span>Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>resident Hassan Rouhani, with their decisions are\u00a0<\/span>further forcing people to the coronavirus minefield.<\/span>\u00a0They first forced people back to work to prevent\u00a0<\/span>more citizens from joining the army of starving people, thus\u00a0<\/span>rising\u00a0<\/span>up\u00a0<\/span>against<\/span>\u00a0the regime. Then,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mullahs opened the religious sites<\/a> to<\/span>\u00a0continue using them as centers of oppression and misusing people\u2019s religious sentiments to further plunder the society. Now, Rouhani and Khamenei are insisting on holding Muharram mourning ceremonies for the third<\/span>\u00a0Shi\u2019ite Imam, Hossain-ibn Ali<\/a>. All the while Saudi Arabia canceled the Haj ceremony, which is obligatory in Islam.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n
