UN Security Council<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The United Nations Security Council <\/span>failed to<\/span> pass the draft <\/span>resolution <\/span>presented by the United States to extend the Iranian regime\u2019s arms embargo. This action further increases the Iranian people\u2019s harsh living conditions and threats <\/span>t<\/span>he<\/span> global peace and security. But how?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Iranian people<\/span><\/b> are the<\/span><\/b> first victims of <\/span><\/b>the <\/span><\/b>mullahs\u2019 warmongering policies\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since taking power in 1979, the Iranian regime has wasted national resources on terrorism and warmongering. Domestic oppression and export of cris<\/span>e<\/span>s abroad are the regime\u2019s two pillars of existence. The regime\u2019s founder Ruhollah Khomeini prolonged <\/span>the <\/span>Iran-Iraq <\/span>war <\/span>for eight <\/span>years and sent thousands of students o<\/span>ver <\/span>minefields. The war that could had ended when Iraqi troops withdrew from Iran and the Iraqi government accepted the peace plan proposed by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/a> to end the war. But Khomeini refused <\/span>to <\/span>end the war since he had <\/span>welcomed the war as a boon, calling it \u201ca divine blessing,\u201d as he used it demagogically to bash all opposition to his regime as an Iraqi fifth column<\/span> and pursue his dream of having \u201can Islamic empire.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After Khomeini\u2019s death<\/span>,<\/span> his heirs, such as the current Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, pursued <\/span>his <\/span>warmongering policies. The Revolutionary Guards (IRGC<\/a>) was tasked to further increase the regime\u2019s terrorist activities in the region. Thus, the IRGC extraterritorial Quds Force<\/a> began its operations in <\/span>the <\/span>early <\/span>19<\/span>90s. These two terrorist organizations, besides funding and arming terrorist groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in <\/span>Palestine,<\/span> and Houthis in Yemen, carried out different terrorist plots around the globe.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the Iranian people<\/span> are<\/span> grappling with the COVID-19 outbreak and its increasing death toll, along with economic hardships, the IRGC <\/span>tested<\/span><\/a> new ballistic missiles during the second day of the final stage of their naval drills in southern Iran<\/span> on July 30. While Iranian people are starving and are being crushed under economic hardships, <\/span>the <\/span>mullahs continue funding terrorist groups and propping up Syrian dictator Bashar-al-Assad by wasting billions of dollars of Iran\u2019s national wealth.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, on May 20, <\/span>Heshmatollah<\/span> Falahatpisheh<\/span>, a former Member of Parliament, in an interview with the state-run <\/span>Etemad<\/span> online news agency <\/span>said<\/span><\/a>: \u201cWhen I went to Syria, some complained that I had caused expenses, but I will say this again: We may have given $20-30 billion to Syria. The money of\u202four\u202fpeople was spent there.\u201d\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On May 20, the state-run Etemad Online published an interview with Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh. In March, in his interview, Falahatpisheh admitted #Iran<\/a> has granted $20-30 billion to prop the Assad regime in #Syria<\/a> while 60% of Iranian families have pushed below the #poverty<\/a> line. pic.twitter.com\/mE11FsEiSc<\/a><\/p>\n

Furthermore, more weapons for the Iranian regime means more people being gunned down on <\/span>the <\/span>streets, such as the 1500 innocent protesters killed during the nationwide Iran protests in November by the IRGC forces.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span>he <\/span>mullahs are whining about the international sanctions<\/span>.<\/span> So how are <\/span>they <\/span>able to fund these terrorist activities other than depriving the Iranian people from their own national resources?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iranian regime\u2019s threat <\/span><\/b>to <\/span><\/b>peace and security in <\/span><\/b>the <\/span><\/b>Middle East and Europe\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span>he mullahs\u2019 regime has never stopped its terrorist activities. <\/span>The regime\u2019s attack on the Saudi Arabia\u2019s oil refinery last September is <\/span>an<\/span> example of the regime<\/span>\u2019s<\/span> direct terrorism. <\/span>The <\/span>NCRI<\/span> United States Representative Office last September<\/span> revealed<\/span><\/a> that commanders of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) navy from the city of <\/span>Mahshahr<\/span>, southwestern Iran, had gone to the <\/span>Omidieh<\/span> airbase (missile attack command operations command)<\/span> to carry out that attack<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Later in June, <\/span>United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in a <\/span>report<\/span><\/a> to the UN Security Council, confirmed that missiles used to attack Saudi Arabia last year were \u201cof Iranian origin<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime has been publicly defending its funding of terrorism.\u00a0 In this regard, Hassan Nasrallah, head of the terrorist Hezbollah group in Lebanon said: <\/span>\u201cBrothers, we are not ashamed to say that Hezbollah\u2019s budget, expenses, food, and weapons are from the Islamic Republic of Iran. <\/span>If<\/span> Iran has money, it means we have money. Do you want more transparency?\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bu the regime\u2019s terrorism is not limited to <\/span>the Middle East.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Thursday, July 30, 2020, a court in Antwerp, Belgium <\/span>held<\/span><\/a> the second preliminary hearing <\/span>in <\/span>the case of <\/span>Assadollah<\/span> Assadi<\/span><\/a>, the regime\u2019s terrorist diplomat, who, acting on orders of the Iranian regime\u2019s most senior leadership, was in the process of carrying out the terrorist bombing of the <\/span>NCRI\u2019s annual \u201cFree Iran\u201d gathering<\/span> on June 30, 2018, in <\/span>Villepinte<\/span>, Paris.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This \u201cdiplomat terrorist\u201d was planning to target a gathering which was not only attended by the Iranian opposition leader, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi and thousands of exiled Iranians, but was also attended by many renowned European and American politicians and parliamentarians, as well many other EU and US citizens.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A<\/span>fter the massive and tragic explosion in Lebanon when locals poured on<\/span>to the<\/span> street<\/span><\/a> and blamed Hezbollah and the Iranian regime for this explosion and attacked several governmental<\/span> centers<\/span>, <\/span>Keyhan<\/span> daily, known as Khamenei\u2019s mouthpiece, in its <\/span>editorial<\/span><\/a> on August 10 threatened European countries.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While blaming the U.S. and France for the protests in Lebanon<\/span>, labeling it as \u201cterrorism\u201d<\/span>, and <\/span>describing <\/span>the Iranian regime\u2019s<\/span> terrorist <\/span>proxy groups as <\/span>a <\/span>\u201cResistance Movement,\u201d <\/span>Keyhan wrote: <\/span>\u201cThere is a key strategic point in dealing with the stubborn enemies of the resistance front. <\/span>If they fight face to face, they should be fought back. But if they resort to terrorism <\/span>and political <\/span>or economic<\/span> sabotage, the same method [terrorist plots] should be carried <\/span>out against their security and economic interests.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the NCRI president-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a><\/span>, has<\/span> said: <\/span>\u201c<\/span>An Arms Embargo against the religious fascism ruling Iran is indispensable to regional and global peace and security. The regime\u2019s unimpeded purchase and sale of weapons will have no result other than terrorism, warmongering and export of <\/span>fundamentalism. The Iranian people, with nearly 90,000 coronavirus fatalities, are, more than ever before, in need of allocating the astronomical budget for weapons, and nuclear and missile projects to their health and treatment. The familiar slogans chanted by people of Iran and directed at the mullahs and against any appeasement of the regime are: <\/span>\u2018<\/span>Leave Syria alone, think of us,<\/span>\u2019<\/span> \u2018<\/span>Neither Gaza, nor Lebanon, my life only for Iran.<\/span>\u2019<\/span> The regime\u2019s leaders must face justice as the greatest perpetrators of terrorism in the world today as should their agents and mercenaries inside and outside Iran.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
