NCRI-FAC (@iran_policy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/iran_policy\/status\/1296195911916359680?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 19, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rafic Hariri\u2019s assassination\u00a0case\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about-ncri\/alternative\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">in a statement following the United Nations special court for Lebanon ruling wrote:\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It is abundantly clear that the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri was ordered by Khamenei himself, planned by Qassem Soleimani, and was part of the mullahs\u2019 broader plan to dominate Lebanon completely.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The UN special court for Lebanon\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">found a member of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, which <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">was\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">founded and supporte<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> by the Iranian regime, guilty in the assassination of Rafic Hariri. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Salim Ayyash, one of Hezbollah\u2019s top officials<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0was accused of organizing and carrying out the attack.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Iranian regime<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0used\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">all<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0its\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">diplomatic,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">economic,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and terrorist leverages to hinder the process of this court\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and its investigations, as well as covering up<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0the undeniable evidence of its\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">involvement in this crime.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The regime\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hid the suspects of this massacre and refused to hand\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">them\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">over to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">court for investigations. In addition, during a meeting with the Emir of Qatar on November 22, 2010,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the Iranian regime\u2019s Supreme Leader Ali\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Khamenei threatened the court. He said: \u201cThis court is a setup court, and any ruling it issues would be rejected. We hope that those in Lebanon who are influential and effective, act with wisdom so that the issue would not turn into a problem.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Beirut Blast\u00a0and its consequence for the Iranian regime\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The world was shocked when a massive explosion happened last week in Beirut\u2019s port. Soon after, major\u00a0<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/protests-in-lebanon-major-blow-to-iran-regime-and-its-proxy-terrorist-group-hezbollah\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">protests erupted in Beirut<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, with angry protestors attacking governmental buildings<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and chanting \u201crevolution.\u201d Protesters in their slogans targeted corrupt politicians and particularly Hezbollah terrorist organization. These protests led to the resignation of the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">government and its Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, who was supported by\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hezbollah.\u00a0 These protests are in continuation of people\u2019s protests in Lebanon within the last 10 months.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">These protests started in October due to extreme poverty<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0failing economy<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, and corruption. Now the explosion in Beirut\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">has increased people\u2019s desire to achieve freedom and remove those\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">putting obstacles on this path, most importantly Hezbollah.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">These protests have terrified the regime. Keyhan\u202fdaily, known as Khamenei\u2019s mouthpiece, in its\u202f<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/kayhan.ir\/fa\/news\/195604\/%D9%BE%D8%B1%D9%88%DA%98%D9%87-%D8%AA%D8%AE%D8%B1%DB%8C%D8%A8-%D9%88-%D8%A2%D8%B4%D9%88%D8%A8-%D9%88-%D9%BE%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AE-%D9%85%D9%82%D8%AA%D8%B6%DB%8C-%D8%AC%D8%A8%D9%87%D9%87-%D9%85%D9%82%D8%A7%D9%88%D9%85%D8%AA-%DB%8C%D8%A7%D8%AF%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%B4%D8%AA-%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%B2\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">editorial<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fon August 10 while blaming the U.S. and France for the protests in Lebanon, labeling\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">them\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">as \u201cterrorism<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fdescribing\u202fthe Iranian regime\u2019s\u202fterrorist\u202fproxy groups as\u202fa\u202f\u201cResistance Movement,\u201d wrote<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: \u202f\u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">There is a key strategic point in dealing with the stubborn enemies of the resistance front.\u202fIf they fight face to face, they should be fought back. But if they resort to terrorism\u202fand political\u202for economic\u202fsabotage, the same method [terrorist plots] should be carried\u202fout against their security and economic interests.\u201d\u202f\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Iranian regime has been using export of terrorism as its mean of survival and exporting domestic chaos abroad.
