The People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI \/ MEK)<\/a>\u00a0announced this afternoon, Aug 21, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 92,300<\/strong> in 394 cities across Iran. The death toll in various provinces include: 6576 in Khorasan Razavi, 6289 in Khuzestan, 4470 in Qom, 4091 in Isfahan, 3817 in Lorestan, 2946 in Sistan and Baluchistan, 2723 in East Azerbaijan, 2715 in Alborz, 2603 in Fars, 2373 in Hamedan, 2207 in Kermanshah, 1859 in Kurdestan, 1214 in Hormozgan, 1104 in Yazd, 1085 in Ardabil, 760 in Ilam, 612 in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, 530 in Kohgiluyehn and Boyer Ahmad, 484 in South Khorasan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.<\/p>\n

On the 32nd anniversary of the massacre of the\u00a0political prisoners\u00a0<\/a>in 1988,\u00a0Resistance Units<\/a>\u00a0and the young supporters of the\u00a0People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/a>\u00a0paid tribute to the martyrs of the massacre. They called for the perpetrators of this heinous crime against humanity, who are now leaders and officials of this regime, to be brought to justice. They also expressed their abhorrence over the August 5, 2020 execution of Mostafa Salehi, a detained protester.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Amnesty International\u2019s Farsi Twitter account posted a document from 1988 which recalled attention to the human rights organization\u2019s effort to halt a then-ongoing\u00a0massacre of political prisoners<\/a>. The tweet proved two often-disputed facts about the massacre: that the international community had been warned in time for lawmakers and diplomats to take action, and that the killings proceeded with the knowledge and consent of all Iranian officials, not just a particularly hardline faction.<\/p>\n

Thirty-two years ago this month, a crime against humanity began in\u00a0Iran<\/a>. In a tempest of savagery that has not been surpassed since the end of the Second World War, the fascist theocracy began the systematic execution of\u00a0political prisoners<\/a>. Within months they had hanged over 30,000 men and women, mostly members and supporters of the\u00a0People\u2019s Mojahedin of Iran<\/a>\u00a0PMOI\/MEK<\/a>, the main democratic opposition to the mullahs. They were murdered on the orders of the psychotic Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a man who claimed to be the voice of God on earth but was in fact the disciple of Satan.<\/p>\n
