\"Filtring-Iran\"<\/p>\n

The Iranian regime\u2019s parliament is to ban and filter all the\u00a0<\/span>social media applications<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in Iran.\u00a0<\/span>This medieval action in the era of technology shows how terrified\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mullahs are from\u00a0<\/span>the population<\/span>\u00a0and their connection with the organized resistance movement.\u00a0<\/span> But will the regime get its desired security?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This plan, in addition to banning all the foreign social media platforms, imposes other restrictions on users. This includes\u00a0<\/span>identification of all users\u00a0<\/span>who\u00a0<\/span>us<\/span>e<\/span>\u00a0anti-filter<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0to access website<\/span>s that<\/span>\u00a0are considered a crime.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>So why<\/span>\u00a0does<\/span>\u00a0the regime intend to do such a thing?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For years, the Iranian regime used the absence of mass\u00a0<\/span>media to freely conceal its crimes<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>continu<\/span>ing the violation of<\/span> people\u2019s rights, and <\/span>plundering national wealth. Now moments after the mullahs\u2019 regime commits a crime the world becomes aware of this.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now the situation has changed, and technology is at the service of all the Iranian citizens. The Iranian\u00a0<\/span>people could\u00a0<\/span>easily inform and\u00a0<\/span>connect with<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)<\/span><\/a>,<\/span> and this has very much terrified the regime. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>major Iran protests<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in November\u00a0<\/span>are\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>testament to\u00a0<\/span>this new situation. Thousands of Iranians\u00a0<\/span>across<\/span>\u00a0Iran, within hours after the regime announced its plan to r<\/span>a<\/span>ise fuel price, poured on<\/span>to the<\/span>\u00a0streets. The regime<\/span>\u2019s supreme leader Ali Khamenei ordered a violent crackdown o<\/span>n\u00a0<\/span>these protests and his security force<\/span>s\u00a0<\/span>killed over 1500 people<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>Yet, people were able to send footage of the regime\u2019s crimes outside<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0mobilizing the international community.<\/span>\u00a0This prompted the regime to completely shut down<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0intern<\/span>et in Iran for days.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In other words, the regime is very much terrified of social media platforms and how people use them. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, the state-run\u00a0<\/span>Resalat<\/span>\u00a0daily\u00a0<\/span>on August 23 wrote:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThe<\/span>\u00a0situation is not the same as two decades ago<\/span>\u00a0to control and manage incidents and news. The soft war era has started for years. On one side is the [regime] and on the other side are its enemies and opponents. This is much like the Iran-Iraq war<\/span>\u00a0with one slight difference: that was a hard\u00a0<\/span>war<\/span>\u00a0and this one is a soft war.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Further plundering people\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to\u00a0<\/span>its criminal and oppressive intentions in filtering social media platforms, the regime is willing to economically profit from this plan. This is the same regime that started selling oil to the people <\/span>to cover its budget deficit and plunder people\u2019s every penny.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, Abbas Abdi<\/span>, who participated in\u00a0<\/span>Iran hostage crisis<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in 19<\/span>81,<\/span>\u00a0in an interview with the\u00a0<\/span>Etemad<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>daily on August 5 said: \u201c<\/span>Filtering is not the right name for what they want to do or have done in the past, but its right name is distributing and selling anti<\/span>–<\/span>filter<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0and increasing virtual traffic\u00a0<\/span>volume,<\/span>\u00a0which means more profit for operators. In fact, this is an economic plan, not a political or cultural one. It is presented as a cultural and media project. But, in fact, it is an economic project with the aim of earning more money.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Will the regime be successful?\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This plan, due to the explosiveness of the Iranian society, is destined to fail.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>In this regard, the state-run\u00a0<\/span>Hamdeli<\/span>\u00a0daily on\u00a0<\/span>August 23 wrote: \u201cWe should not repeat the same mistake in dealing with the internet as we did it in dealing with the satellite and videos. Those same restrictions should not be\u00a0<\/span>imposed, because we cannot fight the technology<\/span>;<\/span>\u00a0it will find its way. We cannot build a wall across Iran.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the state-run\u00a0<\/span>Etemad<\/span>\u00a0daily on August 23\u00a0<\/span>wrote: \u201cThe outcome of this plan will be a copied social medial platform with no outcome. There will be no security [for the regime]. By imposing these restrictions<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0people\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>choose\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>streets to\u00a0<\/span>protest.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
