NCRI –\u00a0Ebrahim Raisi was born in 1960. He entered the clerical regime\u2019s judiciary from the first years of the regime. He started his work as assistant prosecutor in Karaj (West of Tehran) when he was 18 years old. He became the prosecutor of the revolutionary court of Karaj when he was just 19.<\/p>\n
In 1988, when he was Deputy Prosecutor of Tehran, he was one of the four individuals who Khomeini appointed to carry out his order to massacre the activists of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK). During that massacre, 30,000 political prisoners, who were primarily from the PMOI, were executed within a few months. An audio tape surfaced last summer, after 28 years, of Hossein-Ali Montazeri, Khomeini\u2019s designated successor at the time, meeting with the \u201cdeath committee\u201d in Tehran, including with Raisi, about 20 days after the start of the massacre. Montazeri told them that these executions were the biggest crimes committed by the Islamic Republic\u2026<\/p>\n
In that meeting Montazeri talked about how pregnant women and 15-year-old girls were executed during the massacre. Those who attended the meeting (including Raisi) condoned the mass executions. It was subsequently exposed that Raisi was the most active and most ruthless member of the committee. The audio file of the meeting between Khomeini\u2019s then-successor and the \u201cdeath committee\u201d also corroborated this reality.<\/p>\n
Raisi, who is Deputy Head of the regime\u2019s \u201cAssembly of Experts\u201d, was promoted to the position of Tehran Prosecutor in 1989 subsequent to Ali Khamenei assuming the role of the regime\u2019s supreme leader. He held this position for five years. He was the Head of the Office of the Inspector General for a decade from 1994 to 2004.<\/p>\n
He was the Deputy Head of the Judiciary for a decade from 2004 to 2014.<\/p>\n
Since 2012, while he held the position of Deputy Head of Judiciary, upon Khamenei\u2019s order, he became the Prosecutor General of the Special Court for the Clergy.<\/p>\n
Raisi was the Prosecutor General from 2014 to 2015.<\/p>\n
Following the death of mullah Vaez-Tabasi, Khamenei appointed Raisi as the Head of the Astan Quds Razavi foundation, which is one of the most important political and financial conglomerates of the clerical regime controlling massive assets and capital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
