NCRI –\u00a0Despite the regime\u2019s Supreme Court ruling out the death penalty, for the Prisoner of conscience, Anwar khezri, he continues to be held waveringly in Rajai Shahr prison.<\/p>\n
This prisoner of conscience has been in prison for 7 years since 2009. He is suffering from several illnesses but prison officials prevent his hospitalization and treatments.<\/p>\n
He has been imprisoned for a long period of time and being subject to severe torture while in prison, he is suffering from severe pain in his torso, he has asthma too. In addition to preventing medical cares, his medical records has been lost as well.<\/p>\n
During his detention in Urmia Ministry of Intelligence’s prison, he has been tortured for confessions by interrogators.<\/p>\n
At the time of torture, interrogators used kilo weight iron punches on his chest with serious impacts which caused him grave injuries.<\/p>\n
Under tremendous pressures in 2015, he was deployed to Rajai Shahr hospital in Karaj. After physical examinations, doctors diagnosed his discomfort as a result of severe trauma and according to tests, confirmed that he had to be hospitalized urgently for medical treatments, but at that time his medical records were disappeared mysteriously in prison.<\/p>\n
A source close to Khezri said: Anwar\u2019s heath isn\u2019t in a good condition and he had requested immediate attention to his health care. He called his health care denial and missing of his medical records a white assassination by the prison authorities. The source added that after several months of follow-up, prison\u2019s clinic doctors finally ordered a redo on Anwar\u2019s previously performed examinations and tests, which must be performed in a hospital outside the prison, but with even an emphasis on the urgency of these tests, no attempts have ever been made in this regard yet.<\/p>\n
Anwar khezri along with six other inmates have been in prison since December 16th 2009, at the end of March 2015, trial of the seven inmates on charges of “acting against national security”, “propaganda against the system”, “belonging to Salafist groups” and “corruption on earth\u201d was held in Branch 28 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court presided by Judge Moqaiseh.<\/p>\n
On June 5th 2016, sentencing them to prison was officially announced. After the lawyer objected the ruling, the case is referred to the Supreme Court which was overturned late last year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
