Other women prisoners defended Forough Taghipour and Parastou Mo&#8217;ini to prevent hot water from being poured on them. During this time, the hands and feet of several prisoners were burnt due to boiling water.<\/p>\n<p>The Women&#8217;s Committee of the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about-ncri\/alternative\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/a> had previously said in a statement on August 24, \u201cOn the orders of the prison warden of Qarchak, dangerous criminals have been sent to the ward where political prisoners are detained to incite fights and brutalize them.&#8221; It had warned, &#8220;The lives of political prisoners Forough Taqipour, Parastoo Mo\u2019ini, and Zahra Safaei are seriously in danger. Zahra Safaei had previously received death threats from several hired inmates on June 13, 2020.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The NCRI&#8217;s Women&#8217;s Committee calls for urgent action by the United Nations and other human rights and women&#8217;s rights organizations to save the lives of female political prisoners in Iran. It also calls for an international fact-finding mission to visit Iranian prisons and to meet with political prisoners, especially women.<\/p>\n<p>Torture and ill-treatment are a well-known method used by the clerical regime against political prisoners.
