NCRI – Following<\/a> the adoption of a resolution condemning the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran by the Piemonte provincial council, the city of Kivasu held a session with the mayor taking part.
Officials from the municipality and the Amnesty International representative in Piemonte participated in this conference.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no doubt the crimes committed by the religious dictatorship in Iran, leaving so many lives lost, will not go unanswered,\u201d Mayor Libero Chuferdo said in his speed while welcoming the resolution.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Iranian Resistance\u2019s firm stance and perseverance for establishing freedom and democracy in Iran is highly commendable and represents a huge hope for the Iranian people. We learn a lot from the Iranian Resistance. The Iranian people and human rights in Iran have been victims to the West\u2019s indifference and silence, and the Iranian Resistance has been paying a heavy price in this regard,\u201d the Mayor added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe time has come to responsibly and seriously rise in defense of human rights in Iran and place those behind this grave disaster before international courts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Iranian Resistance has paid a major price for freedom in Iran. One main example is the massacre of political prisoners. This is our moral and political duty to awaken the international community to place those behind this massacre before justice,\u201d Analisa Decol, Chair of the Social Policies Commission of the Kivasu municipality.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe massacre of political prisoners in Iran shows the brutal and inhumane nature of those ruling Iran, and also the perseverance and hope of the Iranian people to establish freedom. We must be the voice of the Iranian people because they have suffered much hardship and yet without a doubt they will be victorious,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday the National Council of Resistance of Iran led by Maryam Rajavi is the sole democratic and popular alternative for the mullahs\u2019 regime. Her 10-point-plan for a future free and democratic Iran has been welcomed by the world over. The summer 1988 catastrophe was the climax of the mullahs\u2019 inhumane measures and it is our duty to seriously pursue the call for the prosecution of those behind these hideous crimes in international courts,\u201d said Lorda Bifu.<\/p>\n

\u201cExecutions during [Iranian President Hassan] Rouhani\u2019s tenure have increased significantly. All these measures have aimed to maintain a climate of fear. The unequal conditions faced by women in Iran in social, cultural, economic and political issues, discrimination and harassment of ethnicities and followers of various religions in Iran are very concerning,\u201d said Amnesty International envoy Titsiana Dentico.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 1988 massacre of over 30,000 political prisoners, most of whom were members and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK), is the most horrific crime against humanity after World War II. All of the regime\u2019s factions played active roles in this crime and all its perpetrators are currently in key power positions in this regime. Through this massacre Khomeini sought to forever annihilate Iran\u2019s popular and democratic struggle. However, he faced a wave of sacrifice, perseverance and heroic determination by PMOI\/MEK members and others,\u201d said Dr. Yousef Lesani representing the Association of a Free and Democratic Iran.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe call on the international community to end its silence in the face of this grave crime and not sacrifice human rights in Iran for the sake of its economic interests. We call on the United Nations to place the perpetrators of this crime against humanity before justice,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
