Mine belongs to IRGC Basij\u2019s Cooperation Foundation<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\nThe families of miners who lost their lives in a recent explosion at the Azadshahr mine (in Golestan Province of northern Iran) clashed with anti-riot police units stationed at the mine. These units intended to distance the family members who refused to leave the site. These family members have been staying at the mine\u2019s entrance day and night since the recent incident.<\/p>\n
On May 4th a number of miners held a protest rally on the sidelines of a crisis session held with the Golestan Province governor attending.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur monthly salaries equal the price of a minister\u2019s snack and we are expelled from work if we protest,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n
Even at a depth 1,700 meters there are no ventilation devices in this mine, according to the miners who rushed to the scene to save their colleagues after the recent gas explosion. Iranian regime officials in March arrested and threatened those miners who demanded their paychecks that had been delayed for eight months.<\/p>\n
This mine is owned by the \u2018Eghtesad Mehr Bank\u2019, associated to the Revolutionary Guards Basij\u2019s Cooperation Foundation.<\/p>\n
