The rising death toll indicates a much larger looming catastrophe.<\/p>\n<p>The regime\u2019s officials in several provinces, including the capital Tehran, announced more social limits and closures will be imposed. Yet, governmental jobs, such as factories and many offices will be closed; thus, workers and employees should go to work. In a nutshell, the regime, again, takes the price of this closure from people. All the while, the regime\u2019s own officials now admit the situation in Iran has reached \u201cblack\u201d status.<\/p>\n<h3>A glance at the current situation<\/h3>\n<figure style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Jahane_sanat-696x490\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Jahane_sanat-696x490.jpg\" alt=\"Jahane_sanat-696x490\" width=\"400\" height=\"282\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">The state-run Jahan-e Sanat daily &#8211; August 9, 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The reports gathered by the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/pmoi-mek\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PMOI or MEK<\/a>) indicate that as of Tuesday, over <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-human-rights\/iran-coronavirus-death-toll-in-450-cities-exceeds-117200\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">117,000 people<\/a> had lost their lives across Iran due to the COVID-19 disease. The official death count declared by the regime stands at 27,419, around a fifth of the actual figure. It stopped afterwards but I continued collecting those numbers. It was a lockdown. When the President and the government said everyone will return to work on May 12, and those in Tehran on May 19, it didn\u2019t add up. For the city to return to normal conditions despite the second wave caused by those vacations, the numbers would constantly rise. We saw that we were burying 120 to 130 people a day in Beheshte Zahra Cemetery. Then we saw the official death toll for the entire country equal the numbers in Beheshte Zahra Cemetery alone. It was even lower on some days. How am I supposed to accept that? - The coronavirus numbers announced today, the death toll, are they true or not? - No, its not correct. Sorry that I say this in Persian. I have complaints\u2026 - What is the actual number? - I have worked on three issues. First, I asked for stats from the Beheshte Zahra Cemetery and they would provide it, but not in writing and nothing official. - They would provide it verbally? -Verbally, over the phone. I even told them to send the numbers through an SMS message, they wouldn\u2019t. I asked them why and I realized, they said they had no right to do so. They were threatened\u2026 - Who had threatened them? The government? -No, the higher authority had told them to not provide the true numbers. I told the mayor I want these numbers. They wouldn\u2019t provide it. The official numbers did not match up at all. The stats that I have don\u2019t add up with your numbers. That\u2019s all. I didn\u2019t release the numbers to say this and that. This made some people angry and resulted in a warning. The President said in his remarks during a cabinet meeting that some people are \u201cCovid-19 merchants,\u201d they\u2019re complaining and mention various quotes. I believe if people\u2019s lives were important, we shouldn\u2019t have played with people\u2019s lives like this. Our measures were not good.\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"lL\" style=\"max-width:100%;width:853px;margin:5px;\"><\/div><\/p>\n<h3>Rouhani\u2019s reaction and the reality<\/h3>\n<p>The regime\u2019s president, Hassan Rouhani, who has been lying and blaming people since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, once again blamed people for not abiding by the health protocols and refusing to wear masks. All the while, due to the regime\u2019s crippled economic policies, ordinary people are unable to have the minimum hygienic facilities such as masks and disinfectants.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the state-run Aftab-e Yazd daily <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/aftabeyazd.ir\/index.php?year=1399&amp;month=07&amp;day=15&amp;category=1&amp;\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">on Tuesday wrote<\/a>: \u201cWe have witnessed that in many countries, when governments make the use of something mandatory, they make it available to everyone for free. But in our country, the government has never provided free masks to the public. In addition, the price of masks is still variable, and families are not able to provide and use the mask continuously because it adds significant costs to their budget. In other words, the reasons for people\u2019s lack of cooperation are inflation, poverty, and unemployment. In addition, this government has increased people\u2019s mistrust in the past eight years, because it has not fulfilled any of its promises.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In fact, instead of distributing free masks among people, the regime\u2019s officials will fine anyone who does not have a mask from now on.<\/p>\n<p>Now the regime\u2019s officials speak of how dangerous the situation is. According to Masoud Mardani, member of the Scientific Committee of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT): &#8220;None of the hospitals I work in has an empty bed. Other hospitals are also full.&#8221; (State TV, October 5, 2020)<\/p>\n<p>Alireza Zali, head of the NCCT in Tehran, also told state TV on Tuesday: Some 116 people died in Tehran in 24 hours. We had the worst situation in the past 72 hours. Twenty-five in every 100,000 people are infected, which is considered critical and red. In Tehran, we are moving far beyond this threshold.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stats.sender.net\/forms\/dGYVLa\/view\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-219239 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" width=\"250\" height=\"83\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>How the situation became so critical?<\/h3>\n<p>The Iranian regime announced the existence of COVID-19 in Iran towards the end of February. This was at least a month and a half after the virus had been transmitted from China to Iran. The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/terrorism-fundamentalism\/iran-contrary-to-the-lies-by-the-regimes-leaders-the-military-and-law-enforcement-centers-and-checkpoints-are-completely-infected-with-coronavirus\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published reports<\/a> of the regime\u2019s National Emergency Organization, showing that patients diagnosed with COVID-19 had been hospitalized in early January. The regime refused to inform the public about the coronavirus outbreak in Iran. One of the reasons was the mullahs\u2019 plan to hold their sham parliamentary elections with people coming to the ballot box, to legitimize their rule following the brutal crackdown on <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/iran-protests-2019-update\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">major Iran protests<\/a> in November. This rather \u201cselection\u201d met an unprecedented boycott. Nevertheless, those few regime supporters who participated became host of the coronavirus and spread the virus. The regime refused to lock down the country for months.<\/p>\n<p>When it did, the regime refused to financially help people during the quarantine period, because the regime was busy funding its terrorist proxy groups or building new missiles. So, they forced people back to work, reopened schools, held college entrance exams and the Ashura mourning ceremonies, causing the virus to spread more among people.<\/p>\n<h3>The real reason<\/h3>\n<p>The major Iran protests pushed the regime to the edge of collapse. The mullahs were able to temporally quell the society by killing <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/iran-protests\/27081-over-1-500-killed-in-the-iranian-people-s-nationwide-uprising-names-of-504-martyrs-released\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1500 protesters<\/a>; however, as the regime\u2019s own officials and state media keep warning, people\u2019s anger and another uprising are like \u201cashes under the fire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When the COVID-19 came to Iran, the mullahs seized the opportunity. The regime\u2019s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, called it a test and blessing, Rouhani downplayed the crisis, and other officials followed their lead. In a nutshell, the regime tried to use COVID-19 and its mass casualties to control the society. Now the situation is even out of the regime\u2019s control. While more than 1,000 people have died to the coronavirus in Iran, and while in shocking revelation, the Iranian regime&#039;s Deputy Health Minister Ghasem Janbabaei acknowledged in an interview with state TV that over 12,000 people have been hospitalized after being diagnosed with the coronavirus and this is only 20 percent of the individuals who have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, the regime\u2019s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei dismisses Coronavirus as &quot;not that big a deal&quot;, even calls it a &quot;blessing&quot;.\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"lL\" style=\"max-width:100%;width:853px;margin:5px;\"><\/div><\/p>\n<p>In addition, the regime tried to blame sanctions as the reason for shortage of medication and tools to combat the novel coronavirus. Besides the fact that medications are not under international sanctions, many of the regime\u2019s outlets have acknowledged that people\u2019s economic problems are due to the regime\u2019s wrong economic policies. In this regard, the state-run Hamdeli daily, referring to Iran\u2019s collapsing economy, on Saturday, wrote: \u201cIs the current economic situation the result of sanctions only, or is it the result of incorrect economic and political policies of a group of policymakers, legislators, and planners?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Setare-Sobh daily further highlighted in an article on Saturday that Iran\u2019s economic problems are due to the regime\u2019s mismanagement. \u201cSome people have always benefited from the country\u2019s economic crisis and do not want to solve problems. The country\u2019s current poor economic situation is not the result of the actions of one government and one person, but 40 years of wrong policies and ill-considered decisions have put the country in an economic crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>The solution<\/h3>\n<p>As to the solution, the international community must intervene and independently address the COVID-19 crisis in Iran and help the deprived people.
