NCRI –\u00a0Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei revealed his concerns over the upcoming presidential election and the possibility of \u201cinsecurity and sedition.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNational security and the country\u2019s tranquility is important, and the honorable candidates must be careful not to instigate geographical, lingual and ethnic divisions and not play in the hands of the enemy. If anyone seeks to take measures against the country\u2019s security, they will most definitely receive a slap in the face,\u201d he said at a gathering of Revolutionary Guards graduates in Tehran on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf people break the law and gain hope through the enemy\u2019s words, the elections will be against our interests,\u201d the Supreme Leader emphasized.
Khamenei also referred to the issue of \u201cconfronting\u201d protests and relating this subject to the 2009 presidential election.
\u201cThe country\u2019s security must remain untouched,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Distancing from \u201cthe path of Islam, revolution and [Khomeini]\u201d means changing the Islamic republic apparatus, Khamenei emphasized.<\/p>\n
Khamenei\u2019s remarks were made a time when the Iranian regime\u2019s internal disputes have escalated to an unprecedented scale on the verge of the May 19th polls. Signs indicate widespread public dissent and neglect regarding the farce election.<\/p>\n
