Although this news was far from reality, the state-run media reacted and rejected the mullahs\u2019 bogus claims of victory.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, the United States had activated the UN snapback mechanism, implemented as part of the 2015 nuclear deal that Iran\u2019s regime signed with world powers, citing the regime\u2019s malign activities. The U.S. imposed a new series of sanctions on the regime, designating 18 Iranian banks, making any arms trade with Tehran almost impossible.<\/p>\n<p>As for the Iranian people, who are grappling with poverty, inflation, and the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-human-rights\/iran-coronavirus-death-toll-in-458-cities-exceeds-127100\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID-19 crises<\/a>, the ability to purchase or sell arms is of no concern. For the people in Iran and the Middle East, every bullet and dollar given to this regime means death and destruction.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the state-run Tejarat news website on Tuesday <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tejaratnews.com\/%D8%AA%D8%A7%D8%AB%DB%8C%D8%B1-%D9%84%D8%BA%D9%88-%D8%AA%D8%AD%D8%B1%DB%8C%D9%85-%D8%AA%D8%B3%D9%84%DB%8C%D8%AD%D8%A7%D8%AA%DB%8C-%D8%A8%D8%B1-%D8%A8%D9%88%D8%B1%D8%B3\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote<\/a>: \u201cThe lifting of these sanctions will not have a significant impact [on Iran\u2019s economy and stock exchange market.] We [the regime] do not have a steady income of receiving foreign currencies with weapons sale, and even the cost of buying weapons is much higher than selling them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stats.sender.net\/forms\/dGYVLa\/view\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-219239 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" width=\"250\" height=\"83\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Despite apparent defeat, why Rouhani bogusly claims victory?<\/h3>\n<p>Since the arms embargo had limited the regime\u2019s ability to pursue its warmongering policies, once lifted, the mullahs will be able to spread chaos further. People are under pressure of high prices and lack of essential goods, particularly medicines. Thus, they were expecting [Rouhani\u2019s] surprise to be about issues such as the sharp drop in the price of foreign exchange, the import of basic and pharmaceutical goods into the country, the fall in food prices, and, at a larger level, the lifting of oil and banking sanctions. And the resumption of relations between our banks and the global banking system,\u201d read the article.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstead, like a new president, with only a week past his mandate who is unaware of the country\u2019s economic situation and people\u2019s misery, with utmost happiness on the scheduled day, he announced the end of the arms embargo. And that Iran would be able to purchase and sell weapons from and to any state,\u201d the article continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. President, your good news was like pouring cold water on the heads of over 80 million Iranians. Because they are frustrated with high prices, poverty, unemployment, coronavirus, rampant inflation, and all sorts of stress and disappointments,\u201d Jahan-e Sanat described people\u2019s reaction to Rouhani\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n<p>In another part of its <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pishkhan.com\/Archive\/1399\/07\/13990729\/JahanSanat749711097104505557121364.pdf\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a>, Jahan-e Sanat, referring to the differences between ordinary Iranians\u2019 livelihood and the regime\u2019s officials, warned the regime of the possible outcome.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the face of the small group of officials, who are free of problems such as the increasing of the dollar exchange rate and high prices, a vast majority of employees, retirees and workers live with low wages in \u2018rial\u2019 [Iran\u2019s official currency]. These people are not able to cover their expenses, which are in \u2018dollars.\u2019\u201d The article continued: \u201cAll the while, the government blames all these problems on U.S. sanctions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo this large group of people, crushed under livelihood problems, we should add six, seven million unemployed people, whose population is increasing daily due to the coronavirus outbreak.
