RIYADH, Saudi Arabia \u2014 President Trump pursued to rally leaders from around the Muslim world on Sunday May 21, 2017, and in a new campaign against extremism, declined the idea that the fight is a clash between religions.<\/p>\n
Saudi King Salman and US President Donald Trump also spoke of cooperation between the Muslim world and the U.S. in order to halt terrorism and extremism in the world at the Arab-Islamic-American summit in Riyadh on Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will cooperate in ending terrorism and extremism in all its shapes and forms,\u201d the king said, \u201cIslam was and will continue to be a religion of tolerance and peace.\u201d<\/p>\n
Iran\u2019s ruling powers represent the \u201ctip of the spear\u201d of global terrorism, Saudi King Salman said in a speech on Sunday during a visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to the kingdom.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur responsibility before God and our people and the whole world is to stand united to fight the forces of evil and extremism wherever they are … The Iranian regime represents the tip of the spear of global terrorism.\u201d<\/p>\n
The king also said in a televised speech that Saudi Arabia would not be lenient in trying anyone who finances terrorism.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will never be lenient in trying anyone who finances terrorism, in any way or means, to the full force of the law.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump called on all countries to work together to isolate Iran, accusing the Islamic republic of fueling \u201cthe fires of sectarian conflict and terror.\u201d And stated:<\/p>\n
Starving terrorists of their territory, their funding, and the false allure of their craven ideology, will be the basis for defeating them.<\/p>\n
But no discussion of stamping out this threat would be complete without mentioning the government that gives terrorists all three\u2014safe harbor, financial backing, and the social standing needed for recruitment. It is a regime that is responsible for so much instability in the region. I am speaking of course of Iran.<\/p>\n
From Lebanon to Iraq to Yemen, Iran funds, arms, and trains terrorists, militias, and other extremist groups that spread destruction and chaos across the region. For decades, Iran has fueled the fires of sectarian conflict and terror.<\/p>\n
It is a government that speaks openly of mass murder, vowing the destruction of Israel, death to America, and ruin for many leaders and nations in this room.<\/p>\n
Among Iran\u2019s most tragic and destabilizing interventions have been in Syria. Bolstered by Iran, Assad has committed unspeakable crimes, and the United States has taken firm action in response to the use of banned chemical weapons by the Assad Regime \u2013 launching 59 tomahawk missiles at the Syrian air base from where that murderous attack originated.<\/p>\n
Responsible nations must work together to end the humanitarian crisis in Syria, eradicate ISIS, and restore stability to the region.<\/p>\n
The Iranian regime\u2019s longest-suffering victims are its own people. Iran has a rich history and culture, but the people of Iran have endured hardship and despair under their leaders\u2019 reckless pursuit of conflict and terror.<\/p>\n
Until the Iranian regime is willing to be a partner for peace, all nations of conscience must work together to isolate Iran, deny it funding for terrorism, and pray for the day when the Iranian people have the just and righteous government they deserve.<\/p>\n
In another development, Adel Jubair, the Saudi foreign minister, at a press conference in Riyadh announced: Saudi Arabia and America will work together against the hostile policies of Iranian regime and the regime’s support for terrorism. We and America have joint views about region problems such as Syria, Iraq and Yemen. This meeting will have important results.<\/p>\n
Saudi Arabia\u2019s foreign minister added: We along with our regional partners and especially U.S. will cooperate with each other to stop Iran\u2019s meddling activities in the region. The Americans had provided additional assisting forces in the region. We will work with them on the sea security as well. All these measures are needed to push back Iran\u2019s hostilities in the region. This politic has to stop altogether.<\/p>\n
He said the Iranian regime has become more hostile after the nuclear deal. This regime is striking our cities with missile and its interference in Syria and Iraq and supporting terrorism is very obvious. President Trump wants to stand against the actions of the Iranian regime in the region and we want the same thing as well.<\/p>\n
