NCRI –\u00a0The Iranian regime\u2019s election show has ended. One can look at this issue from a variety of aspects to analyze its results. One aspect is the revelation of the extent of corruption and decadence within the clerical regime.<\/p>\n
Due to the massive amount of systematic embezzlement, theft, and corruption that was exposed by all bands and factions of the regime during the presidential election debates, it will undoubtedly increase social protests more extensively than ever before. Different groups of Iranians, through daily protests and rallies, have shown over the years that they are highly dissatisfied with the current economic conditions. They are willing to push the government even more to obtain their lost rights.<\/p>\n
However, the disclosures of the candidates during the presidential debates were just the tip of the iceberg in a sea of corruption. It became clear to Iranians that this regime, due to its corrupt and plundering nature, neither wants nor can improve the economic situation. Some of the admitted confessions, which were exposed during the debates included 25 million people in absolute poverty and sleeping hungry, and unemployment reaching 40%.<\/p>\n
While the IRGC is shooting and killing nomadic border residents, who are back carrying foreign made items from neighboring countries, the IRGC itself is importing illegal goods from 114 harbors and customs checkpoints under its control. Some cabinet members of Rouhani are smuggling illegal clothing items. Raisi\u2019s chief campaign director is the owner of the largest foreign brands\u2019 clothing mall. The Tehran mayor\u2019s agents are slapping street vendors and turning over their vending carts. And, the mayor of Tehran is gifting 1.2 billion dollars\u2019 worth of land to his relatives. Every day, thousands of people are protesting that their properties have been looted by IRGC and its affiliated militia cooperatives. There is no one they can turn to for justice and the support for their rights.<\/p>\n
During the election\u2019s display between two of the regime\u2019s loyalists, Ahmad Tavakoli and Abbas Abdi in a speech explicitly confessed: \u201cWe are faced with a systemic network of corruption today. At this stage, the machinery and mechanisms who are responsible to steward and combat corruption, they also became to a certain degree a part of this corrupt system. They are closely protecting each other. Therefore, they became part of the continuation and sustainability of corruption.\u201d<\/p>\n
This election candidates did also acknowledge:<\/p>\n
– Opportunities and wealth are in hands of 4%. As a result, 96% of the population do not have access to this wealth and these opportunities.
– Class difference, has increased dramatically in recent years.
– Three million empty houses are right now in the country\u2019s capital, which belong to the same wealthy 4%.<\/p>\n
– Eleven million young people are currently without housing. In order to make them home owners, at least one million housing should be built annually.
– Sixteen million are marginalized in various cities.<\/p>\n
– More than 10 million of the population are illiterate.<\/p>\n
– Subsidies during Ahmadinejad\u2019s term that was 45 thousand Tomans ($15) in is now worth 15 thousand Tomans ($5), which is less than 1\/3 of its previous purchasing power.<\/p>\n
In the year 2016, a total of 530 billion Tomans of loans have been issued, but it is not clear where those have gone.<\/p>\n
A 33 story tower, for example, was delivered to someone who looted 3.8 billion dollars of public money.<\/p>\n
