Masoumeh Ebtekar, the spokeswoman for the hostage-takers who stormed the U.S. embassy on November 4, 1979<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Masoumeh Ebtekar, the Iranian regime\u2019s Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, and so called a \u201creformist\u201d, defended the Governor of Quds Town, near Tehran, who had ordered security forces to shoot people during Iran protests in 2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ebtekar, who had an active role during Iran\u2019s hostage crisis in 1979, labelled anti-regime protesters as \u201cterrorists\u201d who had \u201cstormed the governorate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Masoumeh Ebtekar, also known as \u201cSister Mary,\u201d was the spokeswoman for the hostage-takers who stormed the U.S. embassy on November 4, 1979. She vehemently defended the Americans’ detention and demanded that they be tried.<\/p>\n

While referring to the regime\u2019s security as people\u2019s security while describing the 2019 Iran protests, she said<\/a>: \u201cIn that incident, there were a number of protesters and a limited number of terrorist gunmen who attacked the arsenal and the city defense center. She [the Quds governor] said: \u2018I should defend people’s privacy and security.\u201d (State-run Khabar-Online, October 31, 2020.)<\/p>\n

Ebtekar also defended Iran\u2019s hostage crisis calling it a \u201cunique and special\u201d action.
\nMajor Iran protests erupted in November 2019 after the sudden fuel price-hike. The Iranian regime\u2019s forty years of oppression, corruption, and social and economic mismanagement had turned Iran\u2019s society into a powder keg. The fuel price-hike led to the society\u2019s explosion. Angry people poured onto the streets chanting \u201cDeath to the dictator\u201d and stormed the regime\u2019s centers of oppression.<\/p>\n
