Protests staged by investors who\u2019ve seen their money plundered by state financial institutions, including Caspian and Thaman al-Hojaj, continue in various cities across Iran.<\/p>\n
On the morning of Tuesday a high number of investors in Isfahan<\/strong> continued their protests from the day before and launched a demonstration. The protesters rallied outside the Parsian Bank, in charge of their investments, and chanted: \u201cThe bankrupt Parsian is sitting on our money,\u201d \u201cDown with Seif,\u201d (referring to Caspian\u2019s chief executive), \u201cSeif, answer to our demands,\u201d \u201cSeif is incompetent,\u201d and \u201cThis is treason.\u201d State police attacked but failed to disperse the protesters. Similar protesting investors in Tehran<\/strong> staged a rally outside the international exhibition.<\/p>\n In Nieshabour<\/strong>, northeast Iran, protesters rallied outside the Caspian branch, holding placards written, \u201cThe corrupt must be executed,\u201d \u201cOne embezzlement less, will it resolve our problems?\u201d Iran\u2019s deprived workers also rallied in numerous cities, including:<\/p>\n On Tuesday around 300 workers of the Pars Paper Company<\/strong> in Haft Tappe<\/strong>, western Iran, rallied in the company courtyard demanding last month\u2019s paycheck and protesting intense crackdown measures. They also demanded their one-year work contracts, a review of their employment plans and holding elections to elect their labor representatives.<\/p>\n 300 retired workers of the Haft Tappe Sugar Cane Company<\/strong> staged yet another rally outside the company\u2019s accounting office protesting their employers\u2019 refusal to deposit four percent of their shares to the Social Security Organization Fund.<\/p>\n Workers of the Azerbaijan<\/strong> Industry Development Factory continued their protests for the 3rd consecutive day, demanding their wages and insurance pensions that have been delayed for 18 months, and to be ensured job security.<\/p>\n Workers of two large brick factories rallied outside the gas office of Galugah<\/strong> in Mazandaran Province, northern Iran, protesting gas services being cut off and their factory being closed down as a result.<\/p>\n On Monday workers of the Ahvaz<\/strong> area 8 green areas rallied outside the city municipality office demanding their delayed paychecks.<\/p>\n On Sunday workers of the Iran National Steel Industry Factory in Ahvaz<\/strong> rallied yet again outside the governorate office demanding their delayed paychecks and pensions. They held placards reading, \u201cDon\u2019t deceive the workers with lies,\u201d \u201cUntil when should we be ashamed before our families,\u201d and \u201cHelp the National Group workers.\u201d<\/p>\n On Saturday poor people living in the outskirts of Isfahan began protesting as the governor was visiting their area, forcing him to flee the scene. On that same day workers of the Kavir Tile Factory in Yazd<\/strong>, central Iran, rallied outside the governorate office and protested their paychecks being delayed for four months. In the city of Delvar in Bushehr Province<\/strong>, southern Iran, people rallied outside the municipality office demanding goods to be unloaded in their local port. In Khuzestan Province, southwest Iran, 100 retired workers of the Haft Tappe Sugar Cane Company rallied outside the company office in the city of Shoosh<\/strong>, demanding their delayed paychecks. A number of part-time municipality workers in the city of Neireez in Fars Province, central Iran, protested demanding their paychecks of the past few months now. In Ardebil Province merchants of the Bile Savar<\/strong> border market rallied outside the customs office protesting regulations not permitting goods being transferred in suitcases and passengers carrying goods through the border. In Isfahan<\/strong> a group of farmers from Homayoon Shahr, Falavarjan, Najaf Abad, Lenjan and Mobarake rallied protesting the water of Zayande River being cut off and demanding their share of the river water. On Monday these protesters staged numerous rallies in different cities. This rally in Tehran<\/strong> was staged outside the Central Bank, in Mashhad<\/strong> (northeast Iran) outside the Khorasan Razavi governorate office, in Neishabour<\/strong> outside the parliament branch office, in Ardebil<\/strong> (northwest Iran) outside the Caspian branch and in Lahijan<\/strong> (northern Iran) outside the Caspian central office. On Sunday protesters demonstrated in the cities of Babol<\/strong> (northern Iran), Hamedan<\/strong> (western Iran) and Ardebil<\/strong>, demanding their money returned.<\/p>\n
