It calls on the Iranian regime to prosecute the perpetrators of the 1988 massacre. It adds that if Tehran continues to refuse to uphold its obligations under international human rights law, the UN experts call on the international community to launch its own investigation into the massacre \u201cincluding through the establishment of an international investigation.\u201d In a statement, Amnesty International described the letter as \u201ca momentous breakthrough.\u201d Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran said the report is a testament to the resistance of those martyrs in defense of their ideals. Thirty-two years after the massacre, this report is a major and qualitative step in the advancement of the movement for justice for the victims of that massacre, she added. Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 465 Cities Surpassed 180,700 Over 180,700 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 465 cities checkered across all of Iran\u2019s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People&#039;s Mojahedin Organization of Iran as of Wednesday afternoon local time. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 51,212, less than a third of the actual figure. \u201cOur government officials are not taking Covid-19 seriously and the harsh reality is that when our country is compared to other countries with similar populations, we are among the worst rated. The government is pursuing solutions on coronavirus that are not effective,\u201d said a member of the regime\u2019s Majlis on Wednesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency. \u201cThe number of new cases in Tehran remains high. If we do not abide by health protocols, we will have to anticipate the next peak,\u201d said the deputy chair of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Wednesday, according to the state-controlled Hamshahri daily. U.S. Sanctions Iran&#039;s University Facilitating Recruitment for Qods Force The United States Department of the Treasury\u2019s Office of Foreign Assets Control on Tuesday, designated Hasan Irlu, the Iranian regime\u2019s envoy to the Houthi terrorists in Yemen and an official of Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guards Qods Force. In addition, OFAC designated Iran\u2019s Al-Mustafa International University, which acts as a front organization for facilitating Revolutionary Guards-Quds Force recruitment efforts. \u201cThe appointment of an IRGC-Qods Force official as an envoy to the Houthi rebels in Yemen demonstrates the Iranian regime\u2019s indifference to resolving the conflict, which has led to the widespread suffering of millions of Yemenis,\u201d said U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin. \u201cAdditionally, the IRGC-Qods Force\u2019s recruitment of foreign students for intelligence operations illustrates the degree to which the group has infiltrated Iranian society in order to achieve its destructive goals.
