The world community should act now against such blackmail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime has been violating its commitments under the terms of its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Meanwhile, the European signatories of the deal refuse to act and the EU \u201cremains fully committed to the complete and effective implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) by all sides,\u201d according to the Iran Task Force of the EU\u2019s External Action Service (EEAS).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This weak reaction by the EU has encouraged the regime to continue its malign activities and breaches of the nuclear deal. The JCPOA is full of flaws and fails to address the regime\u2019s destabilizing regional activities, and the regime has been able to use the deal\u2019s loopholes to secretly continue its nuclear activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime has never been loyal to its commitments under the terms of the JCPOA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The National Council of Resistance of Iran\u2019s (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about-ncri\/alternative\/\" rel=\"noopener\">NCRI<\/a>) United States representative office in October <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/nuclear\/irans-new-centers-to-continue-nuclear-activities\/\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> details of the Iranian regime\u2019s new centers that are continuing nuclear activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mr. Alireza Jafarzadeh, NCRI-US office deputy director, during this conference, revealed: \u201cAccording to top-secret intelligence obtained by the network inside Iran of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/primer-the-history-the-peoples-mojahedin-organization-iran\" rel=\"noopener\">PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) from within the regime, SPND has continued its work following the JCPOA. The structure and the personnel of SPND remain intact and part of the institution has been expanded. Thus, the JCOPA notwithstanding, the Ministry of Defense and the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/inside-irans-army-of-terror-and-oppression-revolutionary-guards-irgc\/\" rel=\"noopener\">IRGC<\/a> have maintained their capabilities to build a nuclear weapon.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">2) .<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/A_Jafarzadeh?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@A_Jafarzadeh<\/a>: Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (Sazman-e Pazhouheshhaye Novin-e Defa\u2019i), known by its Persian acronym SPND, is the institution within the Ministry of Defense pursuing this project.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Nuclear?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Nuclear<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Iran?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Iran<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4Cn2b4uMtl\">https:\/\/t.co\/4Cn2b4uMtl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NCRI-FAC (@iran_policy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/iran_policy\/status\/1317113508102885377?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 16, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In April 2017, the NCRI-US Office <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncrius.org\/revelations-status-iran-regimes-nuclear-bomb-making-apparatus.html\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> the continuation of such activities in a center known as Research Academy in the Parchin complex southeast of Tehran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The EU&#8217;s inaction allowed Tehran to accelerate its goal of obtaining nuclear weapons while negotiating with world powers. Obtaining nuclear weapons is part and parcel to the regime&#8217;s strategy for survival.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\">Blackmail: Iran\u2019s method to achieve its goals<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Iranian regime has been using a blackmail campaign to achieve its goals in different areas. The international community\u2019s inaction has effectively assisted the mullahs\u2019 blackmail strategy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">When in 2018 the United States withdrew from the JCPOA, citing the regime\u2019s non-compliance with the deal and its continued malign activities, the regime used the EU\u2019s appeasement policy to initiate its nuclear extortion campaign.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Iran\u2019s blackmail campaign goes back to the 1980s, when the regime stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran and took numerous hostages. The regime continued using hostage taking and terrorism to intimidate the West and achieve its goals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In this regard, the regime has been taking many dual nationals hostage, putting pressure on western governments to succumb to its demands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">November 27 and December 3 marked the historic trial of Iran\u2019s diplomat-terrorist <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/iran-regime-diplomacy-of-terror\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Assadollah Assadi<\/a>, who had attempted with his accomplices to bomb the NCRI\u2019s \u201c<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/free-iran-gathering-paris-2018\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Free Iran<\/a>\u201d gathering in Paris in 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">While Assadi and his accomplices were caught red-handed, and undeniable evidence indicates they will be condemned on charges of terrorism, the regime resorted to its blackmail campaign.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stats.sender.net\/forms\/dGYVLa\/view\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-219239 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" width=\"250\" height=\"83\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Simultaneous with Assadi\u2019s trial in Belgium, Tehran announced it will hang <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/iran-call-for-immediate-international-action-to-secure-the-release-of-ahmad-reza-jalali-and-to-prevent-his-execution\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Ahmadreza Djalali<\/a>, an Iranian academic and Swedish national, who used to teach in a university in Belgium. This action failed, because the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Belgian Parliament quickly reacted, adopting a resolution that if the regime executes Djalali, they will completely cut all relations with the regime.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime had to stop Djalali\u2019s execution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In addition, Assadi had previously threatened the Belgian authorities in March. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/iran-plot-france-int-idUSKBN26U28N\" rel=\"noopener\">According<\/a> to Reuters: \u201c\u2018According to ASSADI Assadolah we (Belgium) do not realize what is going to happen, in the event of an unfavourable verdict\u2019 the minutes, taken by the Belgian police, say.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cAssadi told police that armed groups in Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and Syria, as well as in Iran, were interested in the outcome of his case and would be watching from the sidelines to see if Belgium would support them or not,\u201d Reuters added.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\">Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime will continue to blackmail the West unless it receives a firm response. The Iranian regime will continue its terrorist activities and efforts to obtain nuclear weapons, to hold its fragile grip on power.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">To this end, Mrs. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/biography\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the NCRI\u2019s president-elect, on June 19 <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-nuclear\/maryam-rajavi-the-mullahs-regime-has-never-stopped-the-project-of-acquiring-an-atomic-bomb-and-continues-its-deception\/\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> that the mullahs\u2019 regime \u201chas never give up the project to acquire an atomic bomb and continues the deception and concealment. The regime uses all the facilities and concessions that the nuclear deal has given it to pursue terrorism, foreign warfare and domestic repression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Now, amid the increasing protests inside Iran, particularly after the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-november-2019-uprising-and-its-amplifications\/\" rel=\"noopener\">major Iran protests<\/a> in November 2019, and regarding the new change in the balance of regional forces against the regime and its repercussions for the mullahs\u2019 survival, the regime needs an atomic bomb more than ever.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Thus, instead of trying to revive the JCPOA\u2019s corpse and succumbing to Iran\u2019s nuclear extortion, the EU should act immediately to hold Tehran accountable for its breaches.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The UN Security Council should re-impose all its six resolutions and bring a complete halt to the regime\u2019s nuclear activities.
