While Iran\u2019s coronavirus fatalities<\/a> quickly approach\u00a0<\/span>200,000 and<\/span>\u00a0following weeks of\u00a0<\/span>deception\u00a0<\/span>by the regime\u00a0<\/span>over purchasing the Covid-19 vaccine, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei finally\u00a0<\/span>publicly announced<\/a> a<\/span>\u00a0ban<\/span>\u00a0on the<\/span>\u00a0import of\u00a0<\/span>credible vaccines from the United States, United Kingdom, and France.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cImporting American and British vaccines to the country is forbidden. I have also told the authorities. If Pfizer <\/span>is able to<\/span>\u00a0produce\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>vaccine, why\u00a0<\/span>do\u00a0<\/span>they want to give it to us? They are having mass casualties<\/span>,\u201d Khamenei said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Khamenei called this deadly virus a \u201ctest<\/span>\u201d and \u201cdivine blessing<\/span>\u201d in March. \u00a0Now, his recent remarks, which are in total defiance <\/span>of the\u00a0<\/span>people\u2019s righteous demand for vaccination further confirm the regime\u2019s intention of massacring\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Iranian people.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He also showed his anger over the Iranian people\u2019s <\/span>campaign on social media, using<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>#<\/span>\u0648\u0627\u06a9\u0633\u0646-\u0628\u062e\u0631\u06cc\u062f<\/span>\u00a0or \u201cbuy vaccine\u201d hashtag. \u201c<\/span>Today, with the proliferation of the mass media, it is possible for traitors to change the content of events and distort public opinion. This is a danger.<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the Iranian Resistance repeatedly said, t<\/span>he regime embraced the coronavirus\u00a0<\/span>outbreak,<\/span>\u00a0and the deadly virus became the ruling theocracy\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>ally in oppressing the restive Iranian society.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s top officials, including\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>mullahs\u2019 president Hassan Rouhani,\u00a0<\/span>Khamenei<\/span>\u00a0and others,\u00a0<\/span>initially\u00a0<\/span>denied the existence of Covid-19 in Iran<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>later\u00a0<\/span>announced it\u00a0<\/span>ha<\/span>d<\/span>\u00a0arrived in Iran in late February.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, documents obtained<\/a> by the Iranian Resistance<\/a> from Iran\u2019s National Emergency Organization<\/span>\u00a0showed<\/span>\u00a0patients diagnosed with Covid-19\u00a0<\/span>were hospitalized<\/span>\u00a0as early as January 2020.\u00a0<\/span>Later, Mohammad Reza\u00a0<\/span>Mahboubfar<\/span>, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force, acknowledged<\/a> that\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>coronavirus entered Iran as early as December 2019.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unable to deny the existence of the virus in Iran, the regime started downplaying it.\u00a0<\/span>The m<\/span>ullahs<\/span>\u00a0refused to issue a national quarantine and quickly reopened\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>economy and\u00a0<\/span>schools and<\/span>\u00a0resorted to deception and systematic lying.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime\u2019s leaders continue<\/span>d this deception when the Covid-19 vaccine became officially available.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First, the regime and its apologists tried to blame<\/span>\u00a0international<\/span>\u00a0sanctions for not being able to procure the vaccine.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

O<\/span>n December 7,\u00a0<\/span>Abdolnasser<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Hemmati<\/span>, Iran\u2019s Central Bank Chief, blamed sanctions for the regime\u2019s delay in importing Covid-19 vaccines through the COVAX payment facility, jointly managed by Geneva-based Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and the World Health Organization<\/span>\u00a0(WHO).\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gavi immediately rejected this claim, with one of its\u00a0<\/span>spokespersons confirming\u00a0<\/span>there was no \u201clegal barrier\u201d to Iran obtaining vaccines through COVAX, as the U.S. Treasury\u2019s Office on Foreign Assets Control had issued a license covering coronavirus vaccine procurement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On December 9,\u00a0<\/span>Nasser\u00a0<\/span>Riahi<\/span>, the head of the Iranian Drug Importers\u2019 Union, said there is no problem in transferring currency for the import of the vaccine and other pharmaceutical items to Iran.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime claimed it has no money to purchase vaccines. All the while it continues funding terrorism<\/a> and its ballistic missiles and nuclear programs.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On December 2, Reuters revealed<\/a> that the regime has spent \u201c$600 million\u201d for the \u201cexpansion at the Imam Hussein shrine.\u201d This project is under the supervision of the \u201cHoly Shrines\u2019 Reconstruction Headquarters<\/a>,\u201d one of the IRGC front companies to export and promote terrorism. After failing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>deceiv<\/span>e<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the Iranian\u00a0<\/span>people\u00a0<\/span>and the international community by blaming sanctions as the obstacle in\u00a0<\/span>procuring vaccines, the regime started speaking of producing a domestic vaccine and simultaneously spoke of importing <\/span>foreign vaccines.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hemmati<\/span>\u00a0acknowledged the government had allocated only 200 million Euros to provide vaccines for 8.4 million people, one-tenth of Iran\u2019s 80 million population.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>But<\/span>\u00a0they refused to say from\u00a0<\/span>where<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

No with Khamenei\u2019s order, it is clear the regime has no intention of purchasing\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>vaccine.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSome people in this country made some efforts in producing\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>vaccine. The officials should pay attention to them and\u00a0<\/span>not reject their work. The<\/span>\u00a0production\u00a0<\/span>of the domestic<\/span>\u00a0Covid-19\u00a0<\/span>vaccine is\u00a0<\/span>one of our honors. [Officials] shouldn\u2019t reject this,\u201d Khamenei said on Friday.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Khamenei insists on producing\u00a0<\/span>a domestic\u00a0<\/span>vaccine, while\u00a0<\/span>167<\/span>\u00a0pharmacists<\/span>\u00a0recently\u00a0<\/span>called the\u00a0<\/span>so-called domestic vaccine\u00a0<\/span>a \u201cjoke.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cHow do we dare claim that we can produce this vaccine?\u201d they wrote in an open letter.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Khamenei insists on producing domestic vaccine<\/span>\u00a0because this is another way for him to plunder the Iranian people\u2019s wealth.\u00a0<\/span>This\u00a0<\/span>so-called domestic vaccine is\u00a0<\/span>being produced<\/span>\u00a0by the \u201cExecutive Headquarters of Imam\u2019s Directive,\u201d a financial institution under Khamenei\u2019s control. Importing vaccines from credible international companies hinders the regime\u2019s medicine mafia from receiving a considerable profit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Food and Drug Administration is under heavy pressure to approve domestically produced vaccines and anti-coronavirus medicines. Because obtaining approval from the Ministry of Health means a huge profit for the drug owner,\u201d wrote the state-run Jahan-e\u00a0<\/span>Sanat<\/span>\u00a0daily on December 14, in this regard.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Khamenei and his regime also try to take people\u2019s lives\u00a0<\/span>hostage and<\/span>\u00a0use the vaccine as leverage to lift sanctions and blackmail the world community.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But Khamenei\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>ultimate goal<\/span>\u00a0is to continue using the virus to oppress the Iranian society.\u00a0<\/span>When it comes to purchasing weapons<\/span>, airbus, and missiles from\u00a0<\/span>Western governments and<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0black<\/span>market, Khamenei and his regime waste every penny of the Iranian people. But when it comes to people\u2019s lives the regime refuses to spend even a dollar.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Khamenei\u2019s order is a decree to massacre the Iranian people and use\u00a0<\/span>their bodies to prevent an uprising.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the opposition president-elect<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0said:\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>Having access to vaccines is an inalienable right of the sick and the people of Iran.
