{"id":2336,"date":"2006-10-04T03:24:33","date_gmt":"2006-10-04T02:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/statements\/iran-protests\/2336-a-very-volatile-month-in-iran"},"modified":"2023-01-12T16:43:27","modified_gmt":"2023-01-12T15:43:27","slug":"a-very-volatile-month-in-iran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-iran-protest\/a-very-volatile-month-in-iran\/","title":{"rendered":"A very volatile month in Iran"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright size-full wp-image-29857\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2006\/10\/labourday150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"179\" style=\"float: right\" alt=\"A very volatile month in Iran\" title=\"A very volatile month in Iran\" border=\"0\" \/>560 protests, strikes and clashes in Iran during last month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NCRI &#8211; The People&#8217;s Mojahedin Organization of Iran reported that more than 560 protests, strikes and clashes with suppressive forces took place by people in Iran&#8217;s towns and cities during the past month.<\/p>\n<p>In many instances, the protests which took place in Tehran as well as other cities including Tabriz, Mashhad, Isfahan, Kerman, Bukan, Baneh, Qom, Karaj, Rasht, Babol, Zahedan, Hamedan, Qazvin, Khoramabad, Bushehr, Shiraz, and Khoramshahr led to clashes between people and the suppressive forces.<\/p>\n<p>Workers took part in 140 such protests and students and academics took part in 20 others. Bus Drivers Union, Tehran&#8217;s Iran-Khodro Diesel, Rasht&#8217;s Iran Electric, Gharchak&#8217;s brick factories, Hamedan Sawmeko, Qazvin Naznakh, Western Textile, bus drivers of the Copper Factory in Sarcheshmeh in Kerman, Bouran Refrigerator Factory in Lorestan Province, Dezful Sugar Cube Factory and dozens of other factories were the scene of protests by angry workers. <\/p>\n<p>In September, 40 clashes were reported between people and State Security Forces&#8217; Anti-Riot Units.<\/p>\n<p>In the same time period, waves of arrests were reported by state-run media.
