{"id":233695,"date":"2021-01-25T13:56:09","date_gmt":"2021-01-25T18:56:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/?p=233695"},"modified":"2023-02-01T05:17:54","modified_gmt":"2023-02-01T04:17:54","slug":"state-run-media-warns-of-irans-regime-main-opposition-group-the-mek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/nuclear\/state-run-media-warns-of-irans-regime-main-opposition-group-the-mek\/","title":{"rendered":"State-Run Media Warns of Iran\u2019s Regime Main Opposition Group, the MEK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Iran_state_media_28092020\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-226861\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Iran_state_media_28092020.jpg\" alt=\"Iran, IRGC, Iran Protests, state media, maryam rajavi, mek\" width=\"800\" height=\"434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Iran_state_media_28092020.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Iran_state_media_28092020-300x163.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Iran_state_media_28092020-768x417.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Iran_state_media_28092020-696x378.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Iran_state_media_28092020-774x420.jpg 774w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As the Iranian regime\u2019s infightings continue to grow regarding their foreign policy, the regime\u2019s state-run media acknowledges the role of the Iranian opposition, the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/primer-the-history-the-peoples-mojahedin-organization-iran\" rel=\"noopener\">PMOI\/MEK<\/a>), in mobilizing the Iranian society and international community against the clerical regime.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime\u2019s factions now warn one another of a \u201ccommon enemy,\u201d which is determined to overthrow Iran\u2019s genocidal regime.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The MEK played a vital role in exposing the regime\u2019s secret nuclear program and mullahs\u2019 desire to obtain nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cWhile they consider the government\u2019s policy as the real reason for the intensifying sanctions, they forget to acknowledge the root of all these lies in the MEK\u2019s activities, when one of their officials accused the system of building a nuclear weapon in the 1990s,\u201d <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pishkhan.com\/Archive\/1399\/11\/13991106\/MardomSalari7797111100114484954184553.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> the state-run Mardom Salari daily in its editorial on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cIt was the MEK who used the nuclear program to create an international political riot, which resulted in six consecutive resolutions by the United Nations Security Council. The [rival faction members] seemingly do not know that it was the MEK that helped impose severe sanctions on the Islamic Republic by providing false information about Natanz and Arak nuclear facilities in August 2002. It was [the MEK\u2019s revelations] which turned international \u2018breeze\u2019 into a \u2018tornado\u2019 of megaton of sanctions,\u201d Mardom Salari added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime has tried to obtain nuclear weapons to prolong its grasp on power. Officials concealed their nuclear activities for nearly two decades. The first significant challenge to that concealment came from the MEK when intelligence reports from the group <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/inside-source-reports\/iran-s-nuclear-weapons-program\/\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> the Natanz uranium enrichment site and the Arak heavy water facility. Subsequent revelations unveiled the extent to which the regime\u2019s clandestine nuclear weapons work had advanced, and this triggered inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"4Natanz\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/09\/4Natanz.jpeg\" alt=\"4Natanz\" width=\"500\" height=\"509\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Uranium enrichment site in Natanz<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Over three decades, the MEK has made more than one hundred revelations of secret sites, projects, procurements, and key figures involved in the regime\u2019s nuclear program, often in the face of incredulity and annoyance by the world powers seeking accommodation with the regime. However, that doubt has generally vanished as evidence emerged to corroborate the Resistance\u2019s warnings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Iranian Resistance is proud of having contributed to this outcome. It remains committed to the historic task of preventing an aggressive, virulently sectarian, and repression theocracy from developing weapons of mass destruction and using them to threaten people, the surrounding region, and the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The world leaders signed a nuclear deal with the regime in 2015, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Tehran received enough financial resources by signing this agreement to continue its illicit activities and used the JCPOA\u2019s loopholes to continue its nuclear program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cIt was the MEK that published a book in October 2017, known as \u2018<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Irans-Nuclear-Core-Uninspected-Military\/dp\/1944942084\" rel=\"noopener\">Iran\u2019s Nuclear Core<\/a>,\u201d claiming that despite the JCPOA the [regime] is advancing its nuclear agreement, thus increasing international banking and oil sanctions on the system,\u201d wrote Mardom Salari in this regard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Parallel to its international activities, the MEK has posed a serious threat to the regime\u2019s grip on power by its activities inside Iran. The <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK\u2019s Resistance Units<\/a> played a significant role in leading the restive society in its quest for regime change and freedom, showing the international community that the mullahs have no base of support inside Iran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cIt was the MEK with its \u2018Resistance Units\u2019 strategy that triggered the incidents of January 2018, spreading street riots across the country. As [the regime\u2019s president Hassan] Rouhani said, Trump withdrew from the JCPOA after [what happened inside Iran.]\u201d Mardom Salari wrote.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stats.sender.net\/forms\/dGYVLa\/view\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-219239 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" width=\"250\" height=\"83\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cThose [members of rival faction] who consider themselves the heirs of the revolution\u2019s legacy should look at today\u2019s events, at how the MEK and the enemy use every issue to trigger protests in the country. They should expose [the MEK\u2019s] activities instead of targeting the government,\u201d Mardom Salari warned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Iranian Resistance has also played a key role in exposing the regime\u2019s support for terrorism. The Iranian Resistance was the first to identify the regime\u2019s Revolutionary Guards (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/inside-irans-army-of-terror-and-oppression-revolutionary-guards-irgc\/\" rel=\"noopener\">IRGC<\/a>) and its <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/publications\/special-reports\/the-iranian-regimes-irgc-quds-force-1980s-present\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Quds Force<\/a> as the real source of terrorism in the Middle East. The MEK exposed the role of the regime\u2019s eliminated terror mastermind, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-fundamentalism\/27175-who-was-the-vicious-criminal-qassem-soleimani\" rel=\"noopener\">Qassem Soleimani<\/a>, throughout the years, who had been implementing the regime\u2019s terrorist mandates in the region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mardom Salari underlined how the MEK and the Iranian Resistance held \u201chundreds of conferences between 2002 and 2019\u201d worldwide, exposing the regime\u2019s terrorist activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mardom Salarie\u2019s article once again confirms the regime\u2019s fear of its organized opposition. The regime confirmed this fear when in 2018 it used its diplomat-terrorist <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/iranian-diplomat-and-three-accomplices-on-trial-for-planned-bombing-of-a-massive-rally-in-paris\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Assadollah Assadi<\/a> to plant a bomb in the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/free-iran-gathering-paris-2018\/\" rel=\"noopener\">opposition rally<\/a> in Paris. Assadi and his accomplices were arrested, and the bomb plot was foiled, and their verdict will be announced on February 4.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Despite the regime\u2019s demonizing campaign, the mullahs\u2019 action confirms that the MEK and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about-ncri\/alternative\/\" rel=\"noopener\">NCRI<\/a>) are the only viable alternative to Tehran\u2019s genocidal regime.
