Prior to his arrest, Assadi served as the third secretary at Iran\u2019s embassy in Austria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Khatibzadeh confirmed the regime\u2019s fear of Assadi\u2019s trial, saying \u201cit could set a dangerous precedent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Based on the evidence and the prosecutors\u2019 indictment, Assadi had transferred 500 grams of highly explosive TATP to Europe on a passenger jet. He avoided security check using his diplomatic passport. Assadi handed over the explosives to Nasimeh Na\u2019ami and Amir Saadouni and tasked the couple to plant to bomb \u201cas close as possible\u201d to Mrs. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/biography\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the Iranian opposition president.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Khatibzadeh, spokesperson for the world\u2019s top executioner per capita, complained about Assadi being \u201cjailed in inhumane conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cHe had limited access to his lawyer and telephone to contact his family members,\u201d he claimed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Khatibzadeh speaks of Assadi\u2019s being deprived of lawyer, while the regime he represents, has extrajudicially executed thousands of dissidents. The regime\u2019s Judiciary Chief, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/publications\/special-reports\/iran-who-is-ebrahim-raisi\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Ebrahim Raisi<\/a>, and Justice Minister Alireza Avaii played a key role in the 1988 massacre of over <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/1988-massacre-of-political-prisoners-in-iran\/\" rel=\"noopener\">30,000 political prisoners<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Khatibzadeh claimed Assadi has diplomatic immunity and deprived of his \u201crights,\u201d while he was attempting to commit mass murder in Europe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">During Assadi\u2019s trial on November 27 and December 3, the prosecutors <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-a-fundamentalism\/information-confirm-irans-terrorist-diplomat-assadollah-assadi-led-a-large-espionage-and-terrorism-network-in-eu\/\" rel=\"noopener\">presented much evidence<\/a>, found in Assadi\u2019s car, including a notebook with codes for the operation, confirming his role as the commander of this terrorist plot.<\/p>\n<div class=\"lyte-wrapper\" title=\"Iran&amp;#039;s diplomat &amp;amp; the largest terror plot in Europe. The bomb plot intended to target an annual Iranian opposition rally held in Villepinte, north of Paris, where over 100,000 Iranian dissidents gathered each year. The decision to green-light this terror attack, which could have been one of the largest terrorist attacks in Europe\u2019s history, traces back to the most senior officials of Iran\u2019s regime, according to international news media. On January 9, 2018, Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said the opposition People&#039;s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK) were behind Iran&#039;s Dec. 2017-Jan. 2018 protests. From this day forward the regime\u2019s launched plans to carry its largest-ever terror plot on European soil, with the signatures of Khamenei, Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi. The target was the annual Iranian opposition gathering near Paris where over 100,000 people, along with hundreds of political dignitaries, take part. NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi is the keynote speaker at these events. This conference is an event that Zarif describes as a very hostile measure. Senior Iranian regime officials allocated all their assets for this terrorist plot, assigned to their Vienna-based diplomat by the name of Assadollah Assadi. Assadi is a career Intelligence Ministry agent and an expert in explosives. Following a year of preparations, on June 20, 2018, exactly ten days prior to the NCRI\u2019s 2018 gathering in Villepinte near Paris, Assadi was summoned to Tehran and on June 22 he personally transferred the explosive device in his luggage on an Austrian Airbus passenger plane, flight number OS872, to Vienna. The bomb contained 500 grams of TATP explosives with a remote control detonation mechanism. On June 28, Assadi traveled to Luxembourg where he delivered the bomb to two terrorist agents, Nasimeh Na&#039;ami and Amir Saadouni, who was missioned to take the package to the gathering site. Assadi was in close contact with these two agents for years and regularly met with them in various European countries while sending them to Iran for training whenever necessary. The two terrorist agents, while transferring the bomb in their vehicle to Paris and the gathering site, were arrested prior to noon on June 29 in Belgium. On the afternoon of the same day, Mehrdad Arefani, a third terrorist, was arrested at the gathering site in Villepinte, just north of Paris. Assadi himself was arrested on the afternoon of the next day, The truth is that Asadollah Assadi is a senior ranking MOIS member working under the cover of a diplomat. Both of his posts as an intelligence official and diplomat indicate that he is part of a military\/administrative chain of command, making both the MOIS and Foreign Ministry responsible for his measures. This hierarchy begins with his two superiors in both the MOIS and Foreign Ministry and linked to both ministers directly. These two ministers are under the authority of the regime\u2019s President. The mullahs\u2019 leader is also the highest official responsible in this regime. Furthermore, the MOIS is specifically and directly under the supervision of Khamenei himself and the foreign minister also reports directly to him. This indicates very well that the appeasement policy, alongside neglecting the regime\u2019s terrorist crimes and espionage, have resulted in the mullahs taking on such unprecedented crimes despite the high risks. Its diplomat terrorists and senior officials count on appeasement on one hand and taking advantage of nuclear talks with the Europeans on the other, providing the regime with a sense of immunity. NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi said the following during an online conference on October 22 regarding the case of Assadollah Assadi: 1. European countries must set aside all political considerations in this case. The regime\u2019s leaders must be prosecuted and they must face justice. This is a necessary and a preventive measure against terrorism under the name of Islam with the clerical regime as its exporter and central banker. 2. Khamenei and Rouhani took a great risk by sending a diplomat to carry out the bombing and slaughter. The reason is that they are extremely vulnerable in the face of the people\u2019s uprisings, the spread of the Resistance\u2019s influence, and the overthrow of their regime. 3. The policy of appeasement has greatly emboldened the regime over the past 40 years. To the extent that their diplomat, who is arrested, makes threats of more terrorist operations if convicted, even from inside prison. https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/item\/maryam-rajavi-eu-terrorism-islam-eu-obligations-brussels\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"lL\" style=\"max-width:100%;width:853px;margin:5px;\"><\/div><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The \u201cwealth of evidence\u201d found at the homes of Na\u2019ami, Saadouni and Mehrdad Arefani, another of Assadi\u2019s accomplices, suggested they were on the regime\u2019s payroll and in systematic and constant contact with Assadi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Saadouni and his wife Na\u2019ami started their cooperation with Iran\u2019s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) in mid 2000s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the prosecutors&#8217; indictment, the terrorist couple began communicating with Assadi in 2015, who they knew as \u201cDaniel.\u201d Until their arrest in 2018, Saadouni and his wife were in constant contact with Assadi and traveled to Iran several times. The terrorist couple and Arefani received money from the regime.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">While the trio were receiving welfare from the Belgian government, they had over 100,000 euros in their bank accounts and in cash at their houses. Sadouni and Na\u2019ami had two vehicles and were able to rent two apartments. Na\u2019ami had 120,000 euros in her bank account and 35,000 euros in cash at her home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Despite their diplomat-terrorist being caught red-handed, the regime\u2019s officials have been complaining of Assadi\u2019s so-called \u201cdiplomatic immunity\u201d being violated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, directed by the mullahs\u2019 chief apologist, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-world\/26715-a-look-at-the-record-of-iran-regime-foreign-minister-javad-zarif\" rel=\"noopener\">Mohammad Javad Zarif<\/a>, has not only facilitated the bomb plot by providing diplomatic cover to Assadi, but has ever since tried to whitewash his crime. Zarif, despite his knowledge of the 2018 terror plot and his role in it, was the first person to call this obvious terrorist attack a \u201cfalse flag operation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In other words, Khatibzadeh is Zarif\u2019s spokesperson, confirming the role of the entire ministry in the 2018 terror plot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Zarif and his ministry, along with Assadi and his lawyer have questioned the Belgium\u2019s authority to convict or even keep Assadi in custody. Assadi has even refused to appear in the court.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stats.sender.net\/forms\/dGYVLa\/view\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-219239 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" width=\"250\" height=\"83\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the prosecutors\u2019 indictment, Austria, where Assadi\u2019s diplomatic mission is located, cannot object to his arrest because he was apprehended outside of Austria and according to international law, he did not have diplomatic immunity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The prosecutors also underlined that according to Belgium\u2019s 2002 legislation, even if Assadi had diplomatic immunity, Belgian authorities could have arrested him, adding that even according to Austrian law, Belgian authorities were entitled to arresting Assadi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This is due to Assadi\u2019s intention to commit mass murder; therefore, international law allows Belgian authorities to strip Assadi of his diplomatic immunity and arrest him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">While the entire diplomatic-terrorist apparatus, and mainly its chief Javad Zarif, have \u201cdiplomatic immunity,\u201d Assadi will insist on enjoying the same immunity as his boss does, although he was arrested while trying to bomb a gathering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime has used its so-called \u201cdiplomatic privileges\u201d across Europe to pursue its malign goals. The Iranian regime\u2019s embassies, like the one in Austria where Assadi was stationed, are centers of espionage and terrorism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Today, the European Union\u2019s Foreign Ministers hold their meeting. Assadi\u2019s case and his trial is a momentum which they could use to put an end to the Iranian regime\u2019s unbridled terrorism in Europe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The EU leaders should shut down the regime\u2019s embassies throughout Europe and expel the mullahs\u2019 agents.
