The regime even seized his home to send protesters a message that even their families would not be spared In September 2020, the regime executed Iran\u2019s wrestling champion Navid Afkari for taking part in the 2018 protests, sending shockwaves around the world The regime also continues to execute minors. The UN Special Rapporteur said in July 2020 that since 2013 at least 33 child offenders have been executed, with another 90 on death row In Iran under the mullahs\u2019 rule, sentences of amputation of hands and feet, eye-gouging, and stoning to death are the law of the land In Iran under the mullahs\u2019 rule, lawyers are sent to prison for defending dissidents, while the perpetrators of the massacre of political prisoners hold senior judicial positions, including the Judiciary Chief In Iran under the mullahs\u2019 rule, the rights of ethnic and religious minorities are trampled on every day This is Iran \u2026 In Iran under the mullahs\u2019 rule, women are denied fundamental rights. The regime\u2019s authorities have put pressure on these political prisoners, to extract forced confessions. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In a similar case<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, the regime\u2019s Judiciary has sentenced two other MEK supporters,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Majid\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Asadi<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and Mohammad\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Amirkhizi<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, to another year in prison, based on fabricated charges by the regime\u2019s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS). More than 30,000 political prisoners were massacred. The vast majority of the victims were activists of the opposition People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI-MEK). The letter by the Special Rapporteurs, dated September 3, 2020, has only just been made public by the UN. It calls on the Iranian regime to prosecute the perpetrators of the 1988 massacre. It adds that if Tehran continues to refuse to uphold its obligations under international human rights law, the UN experts call on the international community to launch its own investigation into the massacre \u201cincluding through the establishment of an international investigation.\u201d The UN experts wrote: \u201cIn 1988, the Iranian authorities forcibly disappeared and extrajudicially executed thousands of imprisoned political dissidents affiliated with political opposition groups\u201d President-elect of the NCRI called the report \u201ca major and qualitative step in the advancement of the movement for justice for the victims of that massacre.\u201c Mrs. Rajavi noted that the report, which emphasizes the regime\u2019s non-compliance with its \u201cobligations under international human rights law,\u201d including the non-disclosure of the fate and burial place of those executed, heightens the need to refer this dossier on the ongoing crime against humanity to the UN Security Council, and to bring to account the officials and perpetrators of this great crime of the century.
