On February 4, Iran\u2019s incarcerated diplomat-terrorist Assadollah Assadi<\/a> was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a court in Belgium for his role in masterminding a foiled bombing aimed at the opposition\u2019s rally<\/a> in France in 2018. Assadi\u2019s conviction and the evidence obtained at the time of his and his three accomplices arrest underlined that the entire regime was behind the 2018 terrorist plot. In other words, it showed the regime\u2019s state-sponsored terrorism.<\/p>\n

The regime has been using its diplomatic missions and so-called diplomats to pursue terrorism abroad. In recent years, a number of European countries have expelled the regime\u2019s diplomats, and in one case in Albania the regime\u2019s ambassador, for their role in implementing the regime\u2019s terrorist mandates.<\/p>\n

Assadi\u2019s conviction has sounded the alarm in the West, underlining the need for the United States and Europe to form a \u201ccomprehensive plan to end 41 years of terrorism\u201d of the clerical regime, as highlighted by Ambassador Lincoln Bloomfield Jr., former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, during an online event on Thursday, February 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s have a new strategy, let\u2019s have some new tools, let\u2019s root out the information operations in our midst. Let\u2019s bring the guilty to justice for crimes against humanity and war crimes,\u201d Ambassador Bloomfield said, addressing a conference<\/a> held by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) U.S. representative office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The text of Ambassador Bloomfield\u2019s full remarks is below:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am honored to be joined by these distinguished panelists. Greetings to all who are watching in the United States, fellow Americans of Iranian heritage and\/or not, to the journalists who are watching, to those in Europe, and to the Iranian people who may be tuning in.<\/p>\n

I won\u2019t repeat what we\u2019ve heard. I think this is a seminal event. What we have seen is that the law enforcement and criminal justice authorities in several European countries have had to deal with Iranian terrorist activity from Albania to Austria to Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, possibly other countries. That is a lot of activity, and it\u2019s recent activity. As Bob Joseph just said, the booming threats in both France and Albania were done before President Trump withdrew the United States from the JCPOA. We were in full compliance. The agreement was in full effect, and yet they were still planning and conducting terror activities. So, that pattern has been well established.<\/p>\n

I second everything we\u2019ve heard from our distinguished fellow panelists. The other aspect is the deception involved. What did Foreign Minister Zarif<\/a> say? What is he still saying? Oh, this was a false flag operation. It couldn\u2019t possibly have been the Tehran regime. Of course, that\u2019s been proven to be false, but this is what he said. He said the MEK<\/a> was going to blow up its own people and its own supporters around the world.<\/p>\n
