Iran hangs 2 prisoners<\/h2>\n

Two other prisoners were executed Saturday in eastern Iran following the recent increase in executions of Baloch minority prisoners.<\/p>\n

Iranian authorities on Saturday executed two ethnic Balochi citizens on drug related charges.<\/p>\n

Jamaluddin Brahui and Mohammad Barahui were executed in a prison in the eastern Iranian city of Birjand.<\/p>\n

An informed source said that the 40-year-old man was arrested about two years ago at the Salabad checkpoint in Birjand.<\/p>\n

Inmate awaiting amputation flogged for protesting prison conditions<\/h3>\n

\"Hadi-Rostami-min\"<\/p>\n

A prisoner who has been sentenced to have his fingers amputated, was flogged Sunday at Urmia Central Prison.<\/p>\n

Hadi Rostami, the four fingers of whose right hand are due to be amputated, was flogged 60 times in the 8th Branch of the Implementation Unit of the Urmia Public and Revolutionary court.<\/p>\n

In a new case filed against him during his detention in November 2020, Mr. Rostami was charged with \u201cdisrupting prison order\u201d and was sentenced to eight months in prison and 60 lashes by Branch 113 of the Urmia Criminal Court.<\/p>\n
