diplomat-terrorist <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-a-fundamentalism\/guilty-verdict-for-iran-regimes-terrorist-isnt-enough-to-eliminate-threats-to-europe\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Assadollah Assadi<\/a>, who had attempted to bomb the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/paris-free-iran-with-hundreds-of-top-personalities-lawmakers-and-elected-representatives-from-five-continents\/\" rel=\"noopener\">opposition rally<\/a> in 2018 in France.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;The court ruling and the pre-trial investigation show beyond any doubt that this was an act of state terrorism by the regime in Iran against the country\u2019s organised pro-democracy opposition, the National Council Of Resistance of Iran (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about-ncri\/alternative\/\" rel=\"noopener\">NCRI<\/a>), by targeting their conference, leader and supporters on European soil,&#8221; reads the letter in part.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;A Global Britain must have the courage to take the lead in Europe to address the serious threats of Iran\u2019s state terrorism,&#8221; Three accomplices, agents of the Iranian intelligence ministry were respectively sentenced to 18, 17, and 15 years in prison and were stripped of their Belgian citizenship. The judge stipulated that the bomb was manufactured in Iran and was carried to Europe in a diplomatic suitcase. They had been instructed to place the bomb as close as possible to Mrs. Maryam Rajavi. Assadi who was under police watch, delivered the bomb to one of the agents in Luxemburg and was arrested in Germany on his way back to Austria. He was then extradited to Belgium for trial. Simultaneous with the declaration of the court ruling, a virtual conference was held with participants joining in from more than 3,000 places across the world including MEK members in Ashraf, Albania. In her speech at the conference, Mrs. Rajavi said, \u201cToday\u2019s conviction of the Iranian regime\u2019s diplomat-terrorist confirms the Iranian regime\u2019s state terrorism by a European judicial authority. \u201c She made key policy recommendations to European leaders:\u201dRecall their ambassadors from Tehran and shut down the regime\u2019s embassies and centers in Europe which are used for terrorism. The Ministry of Intelligence and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards must be designated as terrorist entities. All their agents must be prosecuted and expelled from Europe. Tom Ridge former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security said: The planned bombing was a state sponsored operation by a terrorist state that continues to operate with arrogance with impunity, with disdain for human race and common decency, basic norms with civil society, \u2026 But rhetorical condemnation without further action, will be of little impact on this rogue regime, which heretofore has been totally unwilling to change its behavior. countries whose citizens were in harm&#039;s way, in the July event should consider downgrading, seriously, considering downgrading diplomatic relationships with Iran Patrick Kennedy: \u201cIt&#039;s time to call Iran for what it is: a terrorist state. It&#039;s time to expel their diplomats. It&#039;s time that we have a new Iran, that we support the NCRI, we support the 10-point plan of Madam Rajavi,\u201d A number of dignitaries from Albania also participated, including Mr. Pandeli Majko, state minister for Albanian diaspora. Giulio Terzi, the former foreign minister of Italy said: \u201cEurope\u2019s lack of proper action has emboldened Iran\u2019s regime in its terrorist activities, giving them the impression that they will not be held accountable.\u201d Former United States National Security Advisor James Jones underlined that \u201cwe should stand with the Iranian people and their desire for regime change by supporting the democratic alternative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran and its president-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi.\u201d Stephen Harper, former Prime Minister of Canada said: \u201cThis is what the Islamic Republic in Tehran, the world&#039;s largest state sponsor of terrorism does.\u201d On the same day\u2019s evening, a virtual conference was also held in the United States by the Washington office of the NCRI. His three accomplices, a couple and a man, received between 15 and 18 years imprisonment and had their Belgian nationality withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The court ruling and the pre-trial investigation show beyond any doubt that this was an act of state terrorism by the regime in Iran against the country\u2019s organised pro-democracy opposition, the National Council Of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), by targeting their conference, leader and supporters on European soil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">We now know that the convicted diplomat took the explosive to Europe from Iran on a commercial flight using his diplomatic credentials. He then transported the explosive device across several European borders by car and personally handed it over to the convicted couple to bomb the NCRI conference in Paris. This means that the accredited diplomat took advantage of his diplomatic status and privileges to plan, facilitate and carry out this terrorist bombing that could have led to a bloodbath and killed many civilians and parliamentarians, including some of colleagues in the House of Commons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Following his arrest in Germany, a notebook was confiscated in the diplomat\u2019s car proving that he was the centre of a wider Iranian network across Europe. The notebook \u201cmeticulously detailed 289 places across 11 European countries where he is believed to have made contact with agents of the regime\u201d, according to UK press reports. https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/world\/1391415\/iranian-spy-assadollah-assadi-germany-parisbombing<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, who is responsible for the mission and conducts of the Iranian diplomats abroad, shares responsibility for the criminal conduct of Iran\u2019s diplomats and must be held accountable for his role in this foiled terrorist bombing. This also extends to the Supreme Leader Khamenei and the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, since the diplomat did not acted on his own accord but followed a direct order from Tehran, according to the Belgian Security Service and French Government officials.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The British Committee for Iran Freedom (BCFIF) regrets the Government\u2019s silence on this serious threat to British citizens and Europe\u2019s overall security. You surely agree that this behaviour and conduct by the regime is totally unacceptable and deserves a firm and immediate response in order to discourage any such future attacks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Yet, we have seen no statements nor actions by the UK nor our European allies to that effect. In fact, our European partners and the EU plan instead to attend and invite Zarif to speak at an Online Economic Forum in the beginning of March.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">For EU to sponsor such event while Iran is using its diplomats and embassies to run extensive network across Europe and to plan, facilitate and carry out terrorist attacks on European soil, is highly irresponsible. It sends all the wrong signals to Tehran and sets a very dangerous precedent by rewarding the regime\u2019s criminal behaviour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The UK and its diplomats must refrain from participating in such dangerous diplomatic events and reject any attempt by the EU to glance over or excuse the direct involvement of Iranian state in act of terrorism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A Global Britain must have the courage to take the lead in Europe to address the serious threats of Iran\u2019s state terrorism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">We urge you and the UK Government to do just that in response to the convection of an Iranian diplomat on terrorism charges by investigating if Iranian diplomats in the UK are involved in similar activities.
