NCRI –\u00a0A member of Iranian regime parliament says government agencies spend several thousand billion Toman to build private villas on the lake Caspian coastline. Only in Mazandaran province (northern Iran), the acceleration of construction over the past 10 years has been four times higher than the population growth in the province.<\/p>\n
In an interview with the state-run Mizan news agency on September 16, Jabbar Kouchaki Nejad, a Rasht representative, said some government agencies spend several thousand billion Toman of people\u2019s money from the national treasury to build villas on the Caspian coast.<\/p>\n
He further said that the largest number of villas on the Caspian Sea shores is related to governmental organizations that have turned such places into \u201cprivate backyard holidays.\u201d<\/p>\n
Many government ministries and institutions are competing to create settlements and villas in the Caspian Sea Coast.<\/p>\n
Building Villas in three of the Iran\u2019s Northern provinces, Mazandaran, Gilan and Golestan, is increasing day by day. Local experts say that nowadays, along with the Caspian pollution problems, \u201cdestruction of forests\u201d and \u201cbuilding villas by government agencies\u201d have boosted the problems of the Caspian Sea.<\/p>\n
Regarding the insane dimensions of forest destruction in northern Iran, the state-run journal \u2018Donyaye Eqtesad\u2019 (World of Economy) writes: \u201cIn the province of Mazandaran, the acceleration of construction over the past 10 years has been at least four times the growth of the population of the cities and villages of the province.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the data published by \u2018World of Economy\u2019 journal, a large part of the housing stock of Mazandaran province that has been created over the years is in the form of a \u201csecond home\u201d or \u201cprivate and governmental residential settlements\u201d for intermittent stays and only a few days a year.<\/p>\n
