People wait for hours in queues to receive chicken in the cold of winter amid the coronavirus outbreak, and many of them return home empty-handed. The basis of this critical situation goes back to the destruction of the production system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The latest statistics released by the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade show that the prices of some types of livestock and poultry feed in November 2020 increased by more than 100% and increased between 2 and 4.7 times, and the prices of 23 products increased by more than 50%. The highest price increase is related to imported soybean, the price of which increased by 373.9% or 4.7 times during the mentioned period. In addition, the price of foreign and domestic barley has risen by 117.4 to 114.2%, and the price of foreign and domestic corn has increased by 105.1 to 119.7%. The increase in these prices has affected the prices of chicken, meat, eggs, and dairy products.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Poultry-Lines-Iran-02032021-4\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-235831\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Poultry-Lines-Iran-02032021-4.jpg\" alt=\"Poultry-Lines-Iran-02032021-4\" width=\"800\" height=\"478\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Poultry-Lines-Iran-02032021-4.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Poultry-Lines-Iran-02032021-4-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Poultry-Lines-Iran-02032021-4-768x459.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Poultry-Lines-Iran-02032021-4-150x90.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Poultry-Lines-Iran-02032021-4-696x416.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cCurrently, in most provinces of the country, we are facing a shortage of live chicken supply, which has led to an increase in prices. The number of chicks in the last one-and-a-half months was 95 million, which did not reach the quorum, while it should be 110 million,\u201d said Mohammad Ali Kamali, CEO of the National Poultry Farmers Union, on November 20, 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Meanwhile, in April 2020, footages from Iran showing over 16 million chickens being culled <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/economy\/iran-regime-kills-16-million-chicks-amid-coronavirus-outbreak-and-as-society-starves\/\" rel=\"noopener\">shocked<\/a> the Iranian society, which has been grappling with poverty.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Since the chicken farmers are unable to purchase birds feed due to the rising prices, many of them have stopped working. This has resulted in scarcity of poultry. The regime prevents chicken farmers from increasing the price. Yet, due to the scarcity of poultry, the prices have risen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Meanwhile, a regime-affiliated mafia profits from the rising prices.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stats.sender.net\/forms\/dGYVLa\/view\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-219239 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" width=\"250\" height=\"83\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Javad Modallal is one of the regime\u2019s affiliates who dominates Iran\u2019s poultry industry. Modallal is one of the famous billionaires in Iran. He and his two sons, Saman and Peyman, monopolized large parts of the country\u2019s economy. They have close ties with the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/inside-irans-army-of-terror-and-oppression-revolutionary-guards-irgc\/\" rel=\"noopener\">IRGC<\/a>. They had a significant share in different industrial sectors like vegetable oil, cement, mineral water, tea, molten iron and steel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime\u2019s corruption and economic mismanagement have created many problems for people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cDue to government policies, many goods that were once available to the public have long been inaccessible. In other words, people&#8217;s purchasing power has declined so much that even if the upward trend in prices is not accompanied by speed, the existing prices will still be worrying for all sections of society.
