The head of West Ahvaz Health Center Dr. Mehran Ahmadi Balutaki told the state-run Fars news agency on December 11: “Our concern is not limited to the microbial contamination of the water. The water lacks chlorine or does not contain any chlorine.” On December 8, the head of the Inspection Organization of Iran Hassan Darwishian told ILNA state-run news agency, “Allocation of three percent of oil income to Khuzestan province is a considerable budget. Despite the diverse functions of wetlands, unfortunately, due to lack of proper management in the type of maintenance and protection, and ultimately wrong decisions based on political and economic interests, wetlands are damaged,” Vatan-e Emrooz adds.

“Currently, about 90% of the country’s wetlands are drying up, and the destruction of these wetlands will undoubtedly lead to climate change, economic and food insecurity,” Vatan-e Emrooz wrote.

Gorgan Bay, one of the most valuable ecological complexes in the world, which is the largest bay in the Caspian Sea, is drying up completely due to the regime’s negligence.
