Poverty and skyrocketing prices have &#8220;broken people&#8217;s backs,&#8221; and &#8220;salary of 50% of people cannot pay for even food,&#8221;, garbage collection has become an official occupation. Many people even must buy bread on credit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On Sunday, for the eighth consecutive week, pensioners and retirees held protests across dozen Iranian cities. They are demanding higher pensions due to the increasing inflation and skyrocketing prices of their basic daily needs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The state-run media and officials acknowledge a part of Iran&#8217;s economic crisis. Yet, the prices of goods are too high. &#8220;An Iranian citizen is only able to purchase one kilogram of fruit with the monthly subsidy,&#8221; Esmail-Nia added on Friday. During the public session on February 27, one of the regime&#8217;s MPs said: &#8220;By giving subsidies to people, it is like we give 100 to them and due to the rising inflation, they lose 200.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Meanwhile, &#8220;On the eve of Nowruz, Iranians only have to look with regret at the price of 50 to 298 thousand tomans per kilo of nuts. Compared to the increase in the price of other popular Nowruz goods such as sweets and fruits, nuts are a cheaper commodity,&#8221; according to the state-run ILNA news agency.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Due to the regime&#8217;s corruption and wrong economic policies, Iranians are grappling with poverty. There are millions of unemployed. Those who have a job are receiving 2.5 to 3 million tomans. Etemad Online, a state-run news website, quoted Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, MP from Kermanshah and member of the Majlis Security Commission, as saying: \u201cWe may have given &#36;20-30 billion to Syria.\u201d The remarks, which were published on Wednesday, were said in a Majlis session dating back in March. \u201cWhen I went to Syria, some complained that I had caused expenses, but I will say this again: We may have given &#36;20-30 billion to Syria. The money of this people was spent there,\u201d Falahatpisheh said. When Falahatpisheh was the chairman of the Security Commission, he led a parliamentary delegation to Syria, where he met with Emad Khamis, the Prime Minister of the Assad regime. The Iranian regime has been entrenched in the Syrian war since it broke out in 2011. In addition to financial support, Tehran has been sending a constant flow of weapons and armed forces to the country to prevent the overthrow of its ally Bashar al-Assad. According to the estimates made by the Iranian Resistance, the mullahs\u2019 regime may have spent up to &#36;100 billion on the Syrian war. Regarding the increase in price of gasoline, which caused mass protests across Iran in November, Falahatpisheh said, \u201cHow many economic problems do we have in the country? The increase in gasoline prices generates 2 trillion rials per day. This is the average revenue generated by the increase in gasoline prices and selling the surplus to other countries. We can distribute this 200 trillion rial to the provinces to solve their problems. This is just part of the revenue.\u201d The remarks are published at a time that the regime has lifted coronavirus quarantines and is forcing the people to go back to work, claiming that the government does not have the financial means to support continued lockdowns. The reopening of the economy has caused a sudden surge in COVID-19 cases across the country and has returned several provinces into critical conditions. \u201cIn the budget, oil revenue equals to a fourth of the share of taxes. This means that in reality, it is the people who are paying for the country\u2019s expenses. And this is a country that is sitting on a sea of oil,\u201d Falahatpisheh said. \u201cIf we consider all of this, it means that we have the necessary budget to solve the country\u2019s economic problems, that is, if the budget is not spent on other things.\u201d This MP also attacked Ali Larijani, the speaker of the Majlis, and said, \u201cThe Speaker represents the Majlis in some decision-making institutions. Larijani wasn\u2019t an MP. In fact, he represented those institutions, especially the Supreme National Security Council or the branches of power.\u201d The Supreme National Security Council decides on crucial issues. It is presided by regime president Hassan Rouhani and all its decisions are vetted by the supreme leader Ali Khamenei.\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"lL\" style=\"max-width:100%;width:853px;margin:5px;\"><\/div><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime&#8217;s economic policies have devastated Iran&#8217;s financial structure. &#8220;Liquidity growth has set a new record. Since the beginning of this year, 2328 billion tomans have been added to liquidity every day. By the end of February, liquidity has exceeded the impressive figure of 3300 trillion tomans or 3300 trillion tomans. The [regime wants to create wealth by printing money for the 16th year,&#8221; Iran&#8217;s state TV reported on March 12.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;The government itself officially says that 65 to 70 million people, if not receive 45,000 tomans of subsidy, their lives will be in trouble. Thus, it is simple to say that our achievement is public poverty,&#8221; said Hassan Sobhani, a former MP.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stats.sender.net\/forms\/dGYVLa\/view\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-219239 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" width=\"250\" height=\"83\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The regime&#8217;s actions have increased society&#8217;s restiveness. Daily protests by all walks of life, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-iran-protest\/saravan-uprising-no-1-people-of-saravan-stage-uprising-take-over-the-governors-office\/\" rel=\"noopener\">uprising<\/a> in Sistan and Baluchistan, and three nationwide uprisings in the last three years have shown the Iranian people do not want this regime. The regime has been able to oppress people momentarily, but the situation has reached a point that oppression no longer works. It only increases people&#8217;s hatred toward the regime.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;Hungry people can no longer be suppressed. It is possible to control the situation with repression in the short term.
