NCRI –\u00a0US Energy Secretary Rick Perry announced on October 5 that the first-ever shipment of US crude oil had arrived in India, as part of the new administration\u2019s focus on energy dominance and edging Iranian oil out of the market.<\/p>\n

Perry said<\/a> that this new “collaborative work” on energy between the US and India will increase jobs, economic stability, and national security in both nations.<\/p>\n

He said: “This event represents the growing energy partnership between the U.S. and India, and I look forward to exploring new opportunities to expand the role of reliable, responsible, and efficient energy sources with our allies.”<\/p>\n

The oil cargo, which arrived in India on October 2, was the result of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit with Donald Trump. After that, Indian companies began purchasing US crude oil, according to a statement from the Energy Department.<\/p>\n

The US Energy Department is now expected to increase shipments of oil from ports in Louisiana and Texas.<\/p>\n

Trump had previously announced that he wanted the US to produce more oil and natural gas, and increase exports of it abroad. India, a large importer of oil, in particular from Iran, made a prime choice.<\/p>\n

Targeting Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke said last week that the US was looking to take over Iran’s share of the oil market in order to decrease the amount of funding that Iran had available to use for terrorism and nuclear weapons development.<\/p>\n

He said: “Iran is a grave threat. And it is better to have options to address Iran economically and not just militarily.”<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201c[The US\u2019s] economic leverage [will work to] supplant every drop of crude that Iran produces … and energy dominance is part of that.”<\/p>\n

It is a very clever move which allows the US to hit the Iranian Regime where it hurts, without imposing sanctions that Regime apologists would wrongly claim was in violation of the 2015 nuclear deal.<\/p>\n

By restricting the amount of money that the Iranian Regime can use on their nuclear programme or their military, the US can help to bring the mullahs back to the negotiating table in order to get a deal which also restricts Iran\u2019s use of ballistic missiles, support for terrorism, and domestic human rights abuses.<\/p>\n

Also on October 5, Iran, Iraq and Turkey, joined together to blockade <\/a>the Kurdistan\u2019s oil sector after the region voted to seek independence from Iraq. Iran has a long history of cracking down on minorities in their countries, particularly the Kurds who live along the Iran\/Iraq border.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
