On Sunday, October 15th, thousands of people whose property was looted by institutions affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and other repressive organs, rallied in the central streets of Tehran, and expressed their anger and disgust at the oppression of Iranian religious rule. Caspian, Padideh Shandiz and Alborz Iranian (Arman), Pardisban and other institutions have been established in recent years by the IRGC, the Judiciary and SSF (State Security Force) under the guise of cooperative enterprises and banks in a chain in cities throughout Iran. They gathered and looted the assets of people from various walks of society.<\/p>\n
In addition to the depositors of Tehran, the protesters have come to Tehran from other cities like Mashhad, Rasht, Ardebil, Kerman and Ahvaz. As they rallied to Pasteur Street, where the office of the president of the Iranian regime is located, they chanted slogans condemning the looting of their property by government bodies.<\/p>\n
SSF forces and anti-riot guards who had an intense presence decided to disperse the people by threatening and intimidation. By blocking the streets leading to the demonstrations, they blocked the passersby from joining protesters. In response to the threat and repression of the repressive forces, people chanted: “I kill whoever killed my brother”, “SSF, shame, shame!”. In this movement, the brave women, some of whom had their children with them, had a prominent presence and role. Subsequently, the people gathered in front of the regime\u2019s parliament. They also intended to move to Khamenei’s residence, but the police prevented them.<\/p>\n
Several of the looted people have come to Tehran from various cities to seize in spite of many problems, illness and financial strain in order to get back their looted assets. They have staged a sit-in for several weeks in front of the regime’s judiciary at Tehran’s Keshavar Blvd where they sleep in the street at night. On Saturday, October 14, they had a protest rally and chanted slogans.<\/p>\n
Hatami Yazdi, a financial expert of the regime, had previously said in response to the massive protests of the looted people: “Those who launched these institutions had a political power and a special backing and hence they could circumvent the law and did not go with the law … All these institutions were established with improper political support, and they will continue to live with the same support “(State TV News Network-June 20, 2017). This government official had previously acknowledged that \u201cthere are great powers behind these financial and credit institutions.
