\u2022 Iraj Harirchi, regime\u2019s Deputy Health Minister: The COVID-19 status in Tehran and Isfahan will probably turn red next week. Outpatients had increased from 31,000 to 61,000 in one week. The British variant has now spread in all 31 provinces. In three weeks, the death toll will be three digits. In Tehran, the number of hospitalizations and deaths has increased by 50% to 70%. (IRNA news agency, April 4, 2021)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Nader Tavakoli, deputy head of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT) in Tehran: In Tehran, we must prepare at least 8,000 hospital beds for COVID-19 patients; ICU hospitalization has also increased. (Mehr news agency, April 4, 2021)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Hojjat Nazari, a member of Tehran\u2019s city council, said: “There have been many warnings about Tehran becoming red.” People should not be blamed. The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) announced on Sunday, April 4, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 533 cities across Iran had exceeded 243,300. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 56,086, Isfahan 15,855, Khorasan Razavi 15,705, Khuzestan 14,399, Mazandaran 10,380, Lorestan 10,293, East Azerbaijan 9,723, Fars 7,137, Alborz 6,028, Hamedan 5,563, Kermanshah 4,859, Yazd 4,382, Kurdistan 4,212, Hormozgan 2,725, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 1,869.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the regime’s Health Ministry put the death toll in the past 24 hours at 161 for the first time in 104 days. According to the State TV, while acknowledging that four directors of Universities of Medical Sciences have contracted the British variant of Coronavirus, regime\u2019s Health Minister Saeed Namaki told the parliamentary Health Committee, today: “We have lost control of COVID-19, this four-headed dragon, and do not know when to expect managing the death toll to drop down below three digits again. The situation is tough.”<\/p>\n
