European Parliament<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A group of members of the European Parliament issued a joint letter condemning the ongoing human rights violations<\/a> in Iran. These MPs underlined that Iran regime\u2019s terrorism<\/a> and human rights violations go hand in hand, referring to the recent conviction of Iran\u2019s diplomat-terrorist, Assadollah Assadi<\/a>, who had tried to bomb the opposition\u2019s rally in France in 2018. They urged the EU leaders to adopt a firm policy vis-\u00e0-vis the Iranian regime\u2019s escalating malign activities.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In December 2020,\u00a0<\/span>on the basis of<\/span>\u00a0a resolution introduced by most European countries, the United Nations General Assembly condemned Iran for the 67th time for its gross human rights violations. On December 23, 2019, Reuters reported that “about 1,500 people were killed” in November 2019<\/a>. The death toll was provided to\u00a0<\/span>Reuters<\/span>\u00a0by three Iranian interior ministry officials. Thousands more were arrested in these anti-regime protests.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
