This incident happened after the Iranian regime\u2019s proxy groups assassinated a prominent activist, Jawad al-<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Wazni<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">This development again showed how Iran\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/javad-zarif-comments-assadollah-assadi-terrorist-case-%2020210212\" rel=\"noopener\">terrorism<\/a> and malign activities had destroyed the lives of Iranians and all the people in the region. It also underlines the fact that the mullahs\u2019 regime is a threat to global peace and security.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Protests swept Iraq in October 2019, with people targeting the Iranian regime\u2019s destructive presence in Iraq.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">The regime has always described Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, particularly Iraq, with its overwhelming Shiite majority, as its strategic depth. Therefore, protests in Iraq are a major blow to the regime\u2019s strategic depth. It is safe to say that After 18 years of trying to occupy Iraq through brutal measures and using terrorist proxy groups, the Iranian regime\u2019s strategic depth is one step away from collapsing.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stats.sender.net\/forms\/dGYVLa\/view\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" class=\"size-full wp-image-219239 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Weekly-Signe-up-logo-1\" width=\"250\" height=\"83\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Recent protests in Iraq against the regime\u2019s malign activities once again necessitates a global action against the regime\u2019s terrorism which is not limited to the\u00a0country\u2019s\u00a0in the Middle East.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">In February 2021, a court in Belgium sentenced Iran\u2019s diplomat-terrorist,\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/iran-regime-diplomacy-of-terror\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Assadollah\u00a0Assadi<\/a>, to 20 years in prison. Assadi had used its diplomatic cover to transfer explosives from Iran to Belgium and attempt to bomb the opposition\u2019s rally in France in 2018. Assadi\u2019s arrest and his trial once again underlined that the regime\u2019s embassies are acting as emissaries of terror.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">This fact was recently confirmed by the regime\u2019s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a leaked audiotape. Zarif explicitly admitted that the diplomats he oversaw, including ambassadors to Iraq and Syria, were drawn from within the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/inside-irans-army-of-terror-and-oppression-revolutionary-guards-irgc-part-2\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a> ranks and the Foreign Ministry and the regime\u2019s embassies have a \u201csecurity\u201d structure.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/brigadier-general-iraj-masjedi-khamenei-s-secret-governor-of-iraq-suppresses-popular-uprising-in-the-guise-of-iranian-ambassador\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">On November 15, 2019<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">, the\u00a0<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/our-resistance\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">National Council of Resistance of Iran<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0(NCRI)\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">revealed\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">how the Iranian regime\u2019s ambassador to Iraq, Iraj\u00a0Masjedi, acted as the secret governor of Iraq.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cIt is clear that the\u00a0Iranian regime\u2019s ambassador to Iraq, Iraj\u00a0Masjedi, is Khamenei\u2019s secret governor of Iraq. And as a top\u00a0<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/publications\/special-reports\/the-iranian-regimes-irgc-quds-force-1980s-present\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Quds Force<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0commander, he is clearly the regime\u2019s most important person in Iraq. People from all walks of life stage protests across Iran, chant slogans against the regime\u2019s corruption and wrong policies that have resulted in people\u2019s poverty.
