As the Iranian regime’s sham presidential<\/a> elections in 2021 draw closer, state-run media and the regime officials acknowledge people’s willingness to boycott the regime’s farce elections, warn about ongoing factional feuding.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“A significant part of public opinion in this period is at odds with the elections. This opposition has reached all Iranian families,” state-run\u00a0Sharq\u00a0daily warned on Wednesday.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While calling the mullahs’ regime “our country,”\u00a0Sharq\u00a0daily acknowledged: “There is a need to maintain the livelihood of at least the last six deciles of society. Our country is in dire need of a rapid period of economic prosperity to prevent the economic and social collapse that can lead to security and political collapse. The country’s cultural structure and disciplinary situation are facing serious and deep challenges that have put them on the verge of collapse.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In an article on Thursday,\u00a0Resalat\u00a0daily warned the regime’s factions of increasing factional feuds, which is described as “fake polarization.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Fake polarization causes people to become bored and tired of participating in politics and increases the fragility of society to such an extent that extremism, aggression, and radicalism are valued. We put national security amid two enemy seditions on the path of a soft overthrow by global arrogance,”\u00a0Resalat\u00a0wrote.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, seeks to unipolar his regime to easily implement his contraction policy as he faces a restive society. Thus, his Guardian Council has set the stage to disqualify candidates<\/a> of Khamenei’s rival faction. These so-called candidates have been actively engaged in terrorism and domestic oppression. But Khamenei and his regime are unable to tolerate the slightest opposition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Iranian people boycotted the regime’s sham parliamentary election in February 2020. Earlier during the major Iran protests\u00a0in\u00a0 November\u00a02019 and January 2018, Iranians chanted “reformists, hardliner, the game is over,” rejecting the regime’s both factions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, as the election date draws closer, state-run media, close to the “reformist” faction, acknowledge people’s willingness to boycott the regime’s farce elections.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The polls show that there will be a low\u00a0turnout,\u00a0 and\u00a0observers and analysts are concerned about the legitimacy of the election,” Etemad daily wrote on Thursday. “After the 11th parliamentary elections, in which the lowest turnout was recorded, many activists and political analysts expressed concern about the continuation of what was called ‘people’s alienation from the ballot box.’\u00a0It is clear that the\u00a0issue of legitimacy is a major issue that has not only internal but also external consequences,” Etemad added.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The state-run media also acknowledge the opposition’s successful<\/a> campaign of boycotting the regime’s elections.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“If participation is low, it is considered anti-security measures. You the opposition, inside and outside the country, are announcing that we should not participate in the elections to undermine the legitimacy of the system,” wrote the state-run Etemad daily on Thursday. “If the elections are not passionate and a high\u00a0percentage of citizens do not participate, it will move in the direction of the opposition’s demands, and this issue has nothing to do with legitimacy,” Etemad adds.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The state-run Arman daily on Wednesday, while referring to the regime’s ongoing infightings, wrote: “The question is that given [the ongoing infightings] what will be the future of the system? Will it be nothing but destruction.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The political atmosphere is at the height of fragmentation, and society is bewildered and undecided. This is a great danger that will be crushing if we do not act and the political division and hostility continue,”\u00a0Sharq\u00a0daily warned the regime officials on Thursday.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
