On Tuesday, the Iranian regime\u2019s Guardian Council disqualified<\/a> many candidates of the regime\u2019s sham presidential election. By purging those loyal to his regime, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei showed his intention of consolidating power and pursuing his contraction policy to control the restive society and possible uprisings. This massive purge of the regime\u2019s candidates underlines the Iranian Resistance\u2019s statements that the elections<\/a> in the regime are just a fa\u00e7ade. Therefore, many Iranians join<\/a> calls to boycott the regime\u2019s election in June 2021.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In this regard, Mrs. Maryam\u00a0Rajavi<\/a>, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said<\/a>: \u201cDisqualifying individuals such as IRGC Brig. Gen. Ali Larijani<\/a>, the architect of censorship and repression, the speaker of the regime\u2019s parliament for 12 years, and always a part of Khamenei\u2019s inner circle, will render the regime\u2019s power base narrower and more fragile, unprecedentedly aggravate the regime\u2019s infighting, and in turn, accelerate the process of implosion and overthrow of the regime.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Today, there is no longer any excuse to appease and engage with this regime.
