In recent days cities across Iran experienced long\u00a0power\u00a0<\/a>blackouts. As a result, people\u2019s hatred toward the regime as the\u00a0source\u00a0of this crisis has increased. Thus, the regime\u2019s parliament held a session, summoned Reza\u00a0Ardakinian, Hassan Rouhani\u2019s Minister of Energy, due to the regime\u2019s fear of people\u2019s reaction to the ongoing electricity crisis.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Referring to the recent blackouts, the regime\u2019s MPs acknowledged that these blackouts would reach 6 to 7 hours per day.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These long\u00a0power\u00a0blackouts have a devastating impact on the Covid-19 patients. \u201cAccording to Dr. Hamid Emadi, Head of Infectious Diseases Department, of Khomeini Hospital these days, power\u00a0blackouts\u00a0have plagued patients diagnosed with Covid-19 with acute pulmonary problems. This is because one of the most basic treatments for these patients is the use of an oxygen machine,\u201d the state-run Jahan-e Sanat daily wrote on May 24.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u202f\u201cDid you know that with a power outage,\u202f<\/span>Covid-19<\/span><\/a>\u202fpatients who depend on an oxygen generator at home are unable to\u00a0breathe?\u00a0During a power outage, if the hospital emergency power does not turn the oxygen generators on, do you know what will happen to the Covid-19 patients?\u201d Alireza\u00a0Vahabzadeh, an advisor to the Minister of Health, acknowledged on Twitter.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, during the parliament session on Sunday,\u00a0Ardakanian\u00a0bogusly claimed: \u201cIn all countries, the electricity industry collapses every ten years, but Iran experiences the 17th year with non-stop electricity.\u201d\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Shortly after, the regime\u2019s MPs mocked\u00a0Ardakanian\u00a0claim amid their infightings. \u201cChildren, women, and even dead people laugh at the Minister of Energy\u2019s explanations today,\u201d said MP Hossain Salimi.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The root<\/a> of the\u00a0massive\u00a0power\u00a0blackouts\u00a0is the destruction of its infrastructure in Iran under the mullahs\u2019 regime. The regime\u2019s MPs also acknowledged this fact.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have little electricity this year, but [government] did not provide any plan. The management of the energy sector in the system is perplexed,\u201d said Mohammad Bagher\u00a0Ghalibaf, the regime\u2019s Parliament Speaker.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There have been several speculations as to why there are widespread blackouts in various cities.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u202fAccording to the state-run\u00a0Donyaye\u00a0Eghtesad\u00a0daily on January 13,\u00a0Tavanir, which oversees Iran\u2019s electricity industry, confirmed the power supply restrictions to power plants in an official statement and called this the reason for the blackouts. Due to increased electricity and gas consumption in the domestic and commercial sectors and limited fuel delivery to several power plants, scattered blackouts had been applied in some areas.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the regime exports Iran\u2019s natural gas to other countries and forces power plants to use fuel oil, a highly polluting substance, resulting in widespread and intense air pollution.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, MP Hossain Salimi on May 23 acknowledged: \u201cWe have 12% annual growth in electricity consumption, but [the government has] not invested in the electricity industry.\u201d\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ardakanian, the regime\u2019s Minister of Energy, also acknowledged that\u00a0Tavanir\u00a0receives no budget from the government and covers its expenses by exporting electricity.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, not only has the regime refused to pay the expanses of the maintenance, reconstruction, and modernization of power plants and the electricity transmission and distribution network, but it also exports the electricity to other countries to generate revenue.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the crisis deepens, the regime\u2019s factions try to blame one another. Rouhani\u2019s government and his ilk blame the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) for the recent power blackouts. They say that the widespread bitcoin mining by the IRGC\u2019s front companies consumes 2000 megawatt of electricity.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, the IRGC and Rouhani\u2019s rival faction claims that cryptocurrencies consume only 600 megawatts of electricity. They blame Rouhani and his government for the recent power outages. \u201c<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLack of investment and the collapse of distribution system and production network is the reason for the power outage,\u201d said MP Mojtaba\u00a0Tavangar\u00a0on Sunday, accusing Rouhani\u2019s government.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, in Iran, under the mullahs\u2019 regime, despite Rouhani\u2019s bogus claims of \u201cproducing surplus electricity,\u201d there is no construction and renovation. There is only destruction of infrastructures and plundering the\u00a0national wealth, which the regime uses to fund its illicit activities.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>In a nutshell, whether by mining bitcoin\u00a0by IRGC, exporting\u00a0electricity instead of distributing it, and destroying Iran\u2019s infrastructures, the regime is responsible for the current power crisis, and other crises affecting people\u2019s lives.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, as the crises deepen, the people\u2019s hatred toward the regime increases.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe truth is that the energy crisis in Iran has emerged.
