Guardian Council disqualified many of the regime\u2019s top officials at the behest of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/iran-ali-khamenei-suprem-leader\" rel=\"noopener\">Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei,<\/a> who intends to pull Ebrahim Raisi out of the ballot box.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Khamenei\u2019s decision to select Raisi is part of his <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/uncategorized\/iran-election-2021-khameneis-need-to-unipolar-the-regime-and-its-consequences\/\" rel=\"noopener\">contraction policy<\/a> and an attempt to unipolar the regime in the face of people\u2019s inevitable uprising.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe most important concern of the upcoming government is to prevent the emergence and happening of something very horrendous,\u201d wrote the state-run Arman daily on Sunday, acknowledging why Khamenei and his Guardian Council disqualified other candidates; calling people\u2019s uprising \u201chorrendous.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThis horrendous issue that [Khamenei and his ilk] believe is coming will show itself in the future. They think that if they cannot prevent this terrible thing from happening, the [regime] will face serious challenges. In such a situation, the authorities should think of calming the atmosphere of dissatisfaction.
