The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 80,658, around a fourth of the actual figure. \u201cUnfortunately, some of our southern provinces have seen an increase in the number of people seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 and those being hospitalized. We hope there will not be a fifth peak but if we are not careful, we will enter a fifth peak in less than three weeks,\u201d said a member of the regime\u2019s National Covid-19 Task Force on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency. Iran: Continued Strike and Protests by Workers The declining real income in households will face more Iranians with difficulties in paying for necessities. People from different walks of life continue to protest this situation. On June 3, workers of Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Agro-Industry farms in Khuzestan province, southwest Iran, held a protest rally in front of the company\u2019s management office for the third consecutive day, demanding their right to irrigation water, job security, and delayed paychecks. On Tuesday, oil industry workers held a rally in different cities. These workers are demanding higher wages because their current salaries don\u2019t cover their most basic needs. On Wednesday, a group of workers of RSTC railroad company gathered in Tehran on behalf of their other colleagues in different cities and protested their poor living and working condition and officials\u2019 ignorance of their problems.
