The number of victims in Tehran has reached 71,766, Isfahan 20,480, Khuzestan 19,129, Khorasan Razavi 18,605, East Azerbaijan 12,558, West Azerbaijan 11,548, Fars 10,197, Qom 9,690, Alborz 8,663, Province 6,368, Kurdistan 5,242, Yazd 5,132, Central North Khorasan 4,393, Hormozgan 3,870, Bushehr 3,209, Ilam 3,206, and South Khorasan 2,831.<\/p>\n

Shots Fired by Security Forces To Disperse Peaceful Workers Gathering in SW Iran<\/h3>\n

The workers of Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Industrial Complex held their fifth day of peaceful protests today in Shush, southwestern Iran. This is while security forces fired shots in the air on the third day of the strike to disperse the workers. The workers gathered to protest their unpaid wages. According to the Human Rights News Agency, they have not received their wages for more than two months.<\/p>\n

Nine Municipality Workers Detained After Protests in SW Iran<\/h3>\n

Nine municipality workers from Ahvaz southwestern Iran were detained by the police after six days of protests. According to the Asrejonoob website, the nine workers from District 3 of Ahvaz\u2019s Municipality had gathered in a peaceful protest to demand their delayed wages. All workers except two were later released. The two men still held in custody were identified as Davoudi and Mansouri.<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s official oil workers have been holding protest rallies in various cities for three days since last week. Following a nationwide rally by oil and gas workers last summer, a wave of protests has resumed since last week. Official oil workers have held several rallies in various oil-rich cities since last week. As one of the Mahshahr union activists stated, they are also looking to hold a nationwide rally with their families. If last summer\u2019s rallies and strikes were held with the participation of oil and gas workers and contract workers of these companies, this year the official oil workers have been added to the protest, protesting against their employment\u2019s situation and wages their low wages.<\/p>\n
