{"id":242109,"date":"2021-06-24T15:02:21","date_gmt":"2021-06-24T20:02:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/?p=242109"},"modified":"2023-02-08T14:16:21","modified_gmt":"2023-02-08T13:16:21","slug":"iran-regime-threatens-to-abduct-use-terrorism-against-mek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/terrorism-fundamentalism\/iran-regime-threatens-to-abduct-use-terrorism-against-mek\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran: Regime Threatens to Abduct, Use Terrorism Against MEK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/NCRI.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-220152\" title=\"NCRI\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/NCRI.jpg\" alt=\"NCRI\" width=\"1001\" height=\"563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/NCRI.jpg 690w, https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/NCRI-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1001px) 100vw, 1001px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/NCRI-50.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-218888 alignleft\" title=\"NCRI-50\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/NCRI-50.jpg\" alt=\"NCRI logo\" width=\"75\" height=\"69\" \/><\/a>On Tuesday, June 22, three days after the election masquerade and the appointment of Ebrahim Raisi, the henchman of the 1988 massacre to the presidency, the<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/inside-irans-army-of-terror-and-oppression-revolutionary-guards-irgc-part-2\/\" rel=\"noopener\"> Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)<\/a>, thru its affiliated news agency, openly claimed responsibility for abducting dissidents abroad and threatened the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/about-iranian-opposition-pmoi-mek\" rel=\"noopener\">Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK\/PMOI)<\/a> with terrorist attacks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While giving &#8220;serious warnings&#8221; to &#8220;European countries&#8221; and about &#8220;exorbitant costs&#8221; of their \u201charboring\u201d of the MEK, Fars News Agency reminded that opponents of the regime had been \u201ctransferred (Kidnapped) to Iran one after another and put on trial\u201d after being abducted by its intelligence services. It wrote, \u201cIf it were not for some strategic patience by the country&#8217;s security apparatus dictated by expediency,\u201d \u201cwe could have delivered crippling blows to them from where they cannot even imagine, and of course these opportunities are still available to Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The IRGC threats are reminiscent of the threats made by IRGC Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani (The regime\u2019s secretary of the Supreme National Security Council) amid the December 2017 uprising, who, while emphasizing the role of the Mujahedin-e Khalq in the uprising, said that they &#8220;will receive an appropriate response from where they will not imagine&#8221; (Jam-e-Jam TV, December 3, 2017). Eighty days later, the clerical regime tried to blow up the MEK\u2019s Nowruz celebrations in Albania, and six months later, on June 30, 2018, it attempted to blow up a large resistance rally in Paris attended by the NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi, other prominent resistance figures and personalities from various countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last February, a Belgian court sentenced the regime\u2019s terrorist diplomat, Assadollah Asadi, to 20 years in prison. Three of his accomplices were also sentenced to between 15 to 18 years in prison for plotting a terrorist attack against the Paris rally.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Threats of terrorism and abduction by the clerical regime double down on the need for a firm policy vis-a-vis the Tehran regime, including the shutting down its embassies and representative offices, as well as putting on trial, prosecuting and expelling its operative and intelligence agents abroad, and the revoking their citizenship and refugee status.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Secretariat of the
