The Iranian regime\u2019s outgoing president Hassan Rouhani<\/a> recently claimed his government had achieved important economic goals. Meanwhile, state media acknowledge that Iran\u2019s economy is on freefall due to the regime\u2019s institutionalized corruption<\/a>. Thus, people are under heavy economic pressure.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn the first three months of the [Persian New Year of] 1400, the prices of at least ten commodities increased. Meanwhile, Hassan Rouhani announced in the first days of this year that whatever was supposed to be expensive happened last year,\u201d wrote the state-run Jahan-e Sanat daily on Thursday.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation has reached a point that we are unable to say that people\u2019s table has shrunk. We should clearly say people have become poor, and they are crushed under the pressure of skyrocketing prices. Many people\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0afford their basic needs,\u201d Jahan-e Sanat daily adds.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to the Statistics Center, the inflation rate reached 43% by mid-June, and the annual inflation rate of food items reached 51.6 %.\u00a0Therefore,\u00a0Rouhani\u2019s statements are like rubbing salt on people\u2019s wounds rather than defending his government,\u201d wrote the state-run Keyhan daily on Thursday.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The state-run\u00a0Eskenas\u00a0daily on Thursday acknowledged that according to Iran\u2019s Statistics Center\u2019s report, \u201cThe annual inflation rate has reached 43% and the annual inflation rate of food items has reached 51.6%. Until mid-June, the total monthly inflation was 2.5% and 2.3% for food items. Also, the point inflation reached 47.6%, and the point inflation of food items this month was about 62.3%. In this regard, an economist believes: \u2018If today Iran\u2019s inflation reaches 9 percent, we would have the 15th or 16th highest inflation in the world, and this is a disaster.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEvery day, the skyrocketing prices cause more people to worry. One day meat, the next day chicken and eggs, the next day oil and sugar and dairy and finally cement and cars prices increase. Another day medical tariffs, water, electricity, and the cost of public transportation increase.\u00a0 Now it is time for dairy products to rise again by 70%. Meanwhile, there are rumors of a 70% increase in the price of pasta, and shortage and the high price of meat in the coming months,\u201d the Jahan-e Sanat daily adds.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the reason for the skyrocketing prices and high inflation rate?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhy has inflation risen sharply in this government? Most experts attribute this to the growth of liquidity. According to the Central Bank, at the beginning of the government\u2019s activity in 2013, the volume of liquidity was 5.2 trillion tomans, which at the end of 2020 reached 3.5\u00a0quadrillions, which has increased nearly six times,\u201d wrote the state-run Keyahn daily on June 24.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But who should be blamed for Iran\u2019s economic crises, the regime, or sanctions?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe recklessness of the government and the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade in regulating the labor market has led to some people saying that meat, poultry, and dairy products have been removed from their table for months.\u00a0 Since the beginning of this year, they have not even been able to buy fruit for their family,\u201d Jahan-e Sanat daily wrote in this regard on June 24.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe president blames all the country\u2019s problems on Trump sanctions. Did Trump order the removal of gasoline fuel cards? Who should be blamed for the decline in housing construction, lack of support for producers, lack of support for artisans and factories, lack of proper support for vulnerable jobs during the pandemic? Who should be blamed for the increase in rent and housing prices, the skyrocketing meat prices, and hundreds of other problems? Did Trump and sanctions were behind the[regime] officials\u2019 mismanagement?\u201d Keyhan daily wrote. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In other words, the Iranian regime, due to its institutionalized corruption and wrong policies, is behind all of Iran\u2019s economic and social crises.
