According to state-run media, the lawyer\u2019s guideline with 164 articles was confirmed and issued by Iran\u2019s President Ebrahim Raisi, during his last days as Chief Justice. The National Union said the new regulations violate the union\u2019s independence and will infringe on the lawyer\u2019s right to defend citizens. The new regulations no longer allow the union to issue law certificates, giving this authority to the judiciary.
