This announcement comes months after the regime increased the bread price for few times secretly. While Iranians can hardly make ends meet, the regime continues plunging its hands deeper into the people\u2019s pockets.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The disturbing news of increasing bread <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/iran-bread-prices-increasing-20210102\" rel=\"noopener\">prices<\/a> was circulating since the end of 2020.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0\u201cIt is a big threat to a large part of the deciles that sometimes can\u2019t buy these goods. A clear example of this is some reports that have been published about the sale of \u2018leased bread\u2019 in some impoverished cities and provinces,\u201d wrote the state-run Etemad daily on December 28.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Since mid-April 2021, the regime started to increase bread <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/uncategorized\/iran-the-cause-of-bread-crisis\/\" rel=\"noopener\">prices<\/a> unofficially. The head of the Karaj Bakers\u2019 Union said on May 16: \u201cIt has been approved to increase the\u00a0price\u00a0of\u00a0different types of bread by up to 50%.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The regime officials immediately rejected the increase in prices. Meanwhile, the regime officials and state media tried to blame Iran\u2019s poor bakers, saying they have personally increased the bread prices. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Meanwhile, the Iranian bakers have announced on many occasions that due to the high inflation and skyrocketing prices of flour, water, electricity, and other expenses of bakeries, they are unable to make ends meet. They underlined that despite their repeated follow-ups and protests to the rampant costs of the bakery, the regime has refused to help them.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Iran\u2019s state media acknowledged the regime has unofficially increased the bread prices and warned about its consequences.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThere have been rumors about increasing the price of bread, which is the red line of the people. We cannot joke with the people\u2019s bread. Comparing the average price of food items in this month with the same month in the previous year shows that in two cases of selected food items, the changes were more than 100%. The highest price increase belongs to pasteurized butter (121.4%), chicken (118.8%), and liquid oil (89.0%),\u201d wrote the state-run Jahan-e Sanat daily on July 18, 2021.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The recent protests in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-iran-protest\/iran-uprising-in-izeh-with-the-slogan-death-to-khamenei-death-to-the-dictator\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Khuzestan<\/a> showed that Iran\u2019s restive society would no longer tolerate the regime\u2019s plundering. Increasing the bread prices would undoubtedly result in more protests.
