As\u00a0protests\u00a0<\/a>continue\u00a0across Iran, with people chanting slogans like \u201cdeath to the dictator,\u201d state media warn about another uprising. In recent days Iran\u2019s state media acknowledged<\/a> some aspects of Iran\u2019s crises, such as the Covid-19<\/a> outbreak, poverty, inflation, and now the internet censorship plan.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUnder sanctions, suffering from drought, threatened by the climate change and possible earthquakes, and facing the inflation, how we could address people\u2019s protests,\u201d wrote the state-run\u00a0Etemad\u00a0daily on July 30.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDo you expect people to stand aside and watch when the corruption is institutionalized, and 500 million tomans of bonuses are passed easily, without the relevant official be ashamed, and no one is fired?\u201d\u00a0Etemad\u00a0daily wrote.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOpportunities are dashing, and threats are rapidly approaching us,\u201d\u00a0Etemad\u00a0daily warned the regime officials.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In recent days, despite people\u2019s protests and warnings by the regime\u2019s insiders, the mullahs\u2019 parliament approved\u00a0<\/a>to vote on\u00a0the internet censorship plan. The regime falsely believes that by increasing oppressive measures, it could control the restive society.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet, state media acknowledged that implementing the internet censorship plan or any other oppressive measure would have the opposite result.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUndoubtedly, the parliament\u2019s insistence on passing and implementing this plan would impose problems on Iran\u2019s society,\u201d wrote the state-run Jahan-e\u00a0Sanat\u00a0daily on Saturday.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jahan-e\u00a0Sanat\u00a0underlines that the \u201cadoption of such a plan, in contrast to the freedom of information and the violation of civil rights,\u201d and while it possibly \u201cincreases the security\u201d for the regime in the cyberspace, \u201cleads to insecurity in private spaces.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cExperts believe that the [adoption of the internet censorship plan] will increase the level of dissatisfaction that now exists in the society. MPs are trying to restrict the Internet as people suffer from the lack of vaccination, continued sanctions, unemployment, inflation, homelessness, and high amounts of rent,\u201d\u00a0Setar-e\u00a0Sobh\u00a0daily wrote on Saturday.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe closure of users\u2019 online businesses could lead to an army of unemployed, resulting in growing strikes and protests,\u201d Jahan-e\u00a0Sanat\u00a0warns.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to problems such as the terrible and deadly coronavirus nightmare, periodic crises, business closures, growing protests, rampant inflation, unemployment, and eventual instability and anomie of society, Iranian society cannot tolerate a crisis such as the filtering,\u201d Jahan-e\u00a0Sanat\u00a0warned regime officials on Saturday.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis crisis would increase the cost for the system,\u201d Jahan-e\u00a0Sanat\u00a0underlined.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Recent protests in Khuzestan, which initially started due to the water shortages, have terrified the regime. Instead of addressing people\u2019s demands, the regime\u2019s security forces opened fire on protesters, killing 12 people. The protests have not only diminished but spread to other countries.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe question is why you do not think about the growing problems of the people of\u00a0Sistan\u00a0and\u00a0Baluchestan, Khuzestan, retirees, workers, etc., and why you were absent from the protests in Khuzestan,\u201d\u00a0Setar-e\u00a0Sobh\u00a0wrote in this regard.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The regime is in a deadlock. Suppose it does not implement the internet censorship plan. In that case, the information flow exposes the regime\u2019s brutality, people would be able to communicate together, and protests would spread across the country. They could be connected to the organized Resistance movement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If the regime implements this plan, there would be more intensified protests. In other words, as the state-run\u00a0Setar-e\u00a0Sobh\u00a0warned, the regime officials are \u201csowing the wind and would reap the whirlwind.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
