NCRI –\u00a0Vice President of the United States Mike Pence promised that Donald Trump would withdraw the US from the 2015 nuclear deal between six world powers and Iranian regime in May, unless lawmakers on both sides of the Atlantic could agree to fix the agreement\u2019s major flaws.<\/p>\n
Speaking to AIPAC, in Washington, DC, Pence said: \u201cMake no mistake about it, this is their last chance. Unless the Iran nuclear deal is fixed in the coming months, the United States of America will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued: \u201cThe United States of America will never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sanctions Relief<\/p>\n
Back in January, Trump extended nuclear sanctions relief on Iran as a whole, while also issuing target sanctions against individuals linked to the suppression of protesters in Iran during the widespread and still ongoing anti-regime protests.<\/p>\n
Trump gave a deadline of May 12 for the flaws in the nuclear deal to be fixed otherwise he would pull the US out of the agreement, which Trump has previously called \u201cdictators\u201d and \u201cthe worst deal ever\u201d.<\/p>\n
Pence promised that Trump would not make such a concession again if these flaws were not fixed.<\/p>\n
These fixes that Trump wants include:<\/p>\n
\u2022 removing the expiration of certain nuclear restrictions, known as sunset clauses, which merely delay Iran from having a nuclear weapon<\/p>\n
\u2022 imposing automatic sanctions if Iran violates the deal, without having to go through Congress<\/p>\n
\u2022 allowing independent nuclear inspectors to inspect all nuclear (and possible) sites in Iran with and without notice<\/p>\n
The nuclear deal, which was agreed by Iran, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (the US, UK, France, Russia, China), and Germany, was supposed to roll back Iran\u2019s nuclear programme in exchange for sanctions relief.<\/p>\n
Iran\u2019s malign military adventures<\/p>\n
Pence also told that Iran had spent $4 billion to fund terrorist groups in 2017 alone, including placing Hezbollah on Israel\u2019s borders and sending an Iranian drone into Israeli airspace.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cDangerous provocations will not go unchecked by, America, or our allies.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also speaking at AIPAC was US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, who has recently lobbied for a UN resolution condemning Iran for supplying the Yemeni Houthis with the ballistic missiles that they fired on Saudi Arabia, as proven by UN experts.<\/p>\n
